I guess it's hard to make a story compelling when everyone already knows about your main character's fate, as well as all the twists and turns of her life. Listening to this book feels like an eternity. But I'm not even sure if this is intentional because, after all, Circe is a goddess and goddesses are immortal.

This is my second reread of this book due to a recommendation from a friend. Last time I hated it so much that I recommended everyone to avoid it. So,This is my second reread of this book due to a recommendation from a friend. Last time I hated it so much that I recommended everyone to avoid it. So, this time, I tried to clear my preconceptions before reading. That worked to some extends as I was looking at it as a pastime fables instead of a story with valuable life lessons embedded in it.
The rating didn't change much. I would still give it 2 stars (maybe 2.3). The story wasn't that good. The telling wasn't so good either. And the logic is.. sorry, I shouldn't even talk about logic in this book.
So, judge for yourself whether you want to spend 3+ hours on this....more
