This book caught my attention because of the title and the cover art! It put me in mind of Dexter but as I am reading it I realized they are very different. Jazz had inner struggles he had to fight on a day to day basis because of his upbringing and he was flawed. The great thing is he evolved and learned how to not self doubt himself so much by the book end. How does one deal with the fact that their father was a serial killer and he was witness to most of it? This book explores that and how he reacts to another serial killer in town and how that effects him. This book was anything but predictable or boring. I really did not figure it out and was shocked by so much as things came to a head. This is my must read for everyone this summer as you will not be disappointed....more
I really enjoy this series. This one had more action then book 4, which I was happy about. But at the end of the day if CC had stopped at book 3 like I really enjoy this series. This one had more action then book 4, which I was happy about. But at the end of the day if CC had stopped at book 3 like was intended I would have been ok with that. I like Infernal devices better then TMI the last 2 books. Of course I will keep reading. It is just some of the characters are falling flat for other then Izzy, she is more dimensional now....more

I feel bad because I got it free from Amazon. But I was really taken aback at how much I loved this book. I am not one for chic lit, so loving this book says a lot. It is based in the south Bible belt. There is a love triangle,a good boy and a bad boy. Abby Glines throws in some good curve balls too. I just say read it. I love a book that can make you feel emotion, this book does that....more

I am SO happy to receive this book and I am even Ok I believe I won this book from a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ giveaway since it came from London from the publisher. I am SO happy to receive this book and I am even happier to give a review. I loved Poison Study by Maria V Snyder so I had high expectations for Touch of Power. I was not disappointed. Maria V Snyder delivers a rich backdrop, developed characters and a great story line. For me, this is a MUST for a book to get 4 or 5 stars in my review. Our story takes place with Avry, who is thought to be the last healer of the 15 realms and is on the run. Healers are who the people believe is responsible for the plague that decimated the population. Ready for execution, Avry is saved by a mysterious man named Kerrick. For 2 years he has searched for her, to heal his King whom he believes can bring change and peace in the 15 realms. Getting Avry to feel the same is another story. There are twists and surprises that made me plow through this book till the wee hours of the morning. I give this book an easy 4.5 stars and cannot wait for the next one in 1213....more

I liked this book but did not love it. It did not have a natural flow. I had a hard time liking any of the characters. I usually get attached to at least one character(ie Patch over Norah). I liked the story but felt some of it was rushed. Things between Isis and her mother did not make sense, like her mom was strict but not really. I do have to say Nely got me with the ending so I might just read bk 2. I really like how she ended it:) I think this is a series that has the potential to get better with each new book. Also there were moments(many) that were almost too sweet, I had a toothache. David never made my belly do flip flops like my other book boyfriends(lol). That made me sad. He was a bit corny and sugary for my taste. I get the whole old fashion bit (one reason I love Edward) but it seemed a bit contrived in some places. Isis acted like a Mary Sue at times that I found annoying. But overall I will keep this on my shelf and hope for better things in book 2....more

No matter what PatcI am really enjoying this series and glad I gave it a second chance. I really fall more and more in love Patch with each book too. No matter what Patch and Norah go through they always wind up facing it on together. In Silence there is lots of suspense and drama. I do not want to say too much in fear of giving away the good parts. But this is a solid read and a great series. 3.5/5...more

I really like the idea of a team of time travelers and the school they attend. I just was sad that the story fell flat. I really liked Sera and Max though. The romance seemed a little forced with no natural build up. I never really understood why the gang was after her either. There was just a lot left just hanging and not in a good way. I was interested in her mother and what became of her, maybe we will get that in book 2. This series does have a lot of promise and I will read the next book in hopes it delivers. I give this 2.5 stars....more
