First of all the subject matter about the sex trade is a sensitive one and I have read some very good fiction books about it. The Guest Room by: Chris Bohjalian and A Walk Across the Sun by: Corban Addison are two of my favorites. So in saying that this book got a lower than usual score from me because of the way it was written. It just didn't flow for me and so it was hard to relate with the characters. It was also a very sad story so I stayed down in emotions reading it. What was happening to these girls was horrendous and I was glad to find a good ending for one of the girls. Just ok for me.

A book that was picked for my Mystery Book Club. First time reading this author and I liked it but didn't love it. I might even read this author againA book that was picked for my Mystery Book Club. First time reading this author and I liked it but didn't love it. I might even read this author again. The whole story was who was kidnapping girls over the years. There were sooooooo many characters in this story so you had a lot of suspects. I felt like the story was a little drug out and wordy with a lot of going back and forth in time. I could push this rating to a 3 1/2 only because of the ending and finding out who the culprit was. Good story not great!...more
I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Sallie Kincaid and her life. I loved the characters, especially the women who were pretty feisty and strong as they I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Sallie Kincaid and her life. I loved the characters, especially the women who were pretty feisty and strong as they needed to be. The storyline had a bit of a dramatic soap opera genre to it as to who was related to who. I listened to the audio and it was narrated by the author which added to the story. Very well done. Enjoyed the story and hope to read more of this author. ...more
