This book had me hooked from the jump with its vibes and characters that actually make you feel something. Camryn, our main girl, is such a vibe—confident, knows her worth, and isn’t here to settle for less. That “Ice Queen label? Please. She just has standards, and I love that for her. I was instantly rooting for her.
The energy between her and Halvard? Electric. Their first interaction at the carnival had me giggling, blushing, and just fully invested. The way their connection builds is such a chef’s kiss—it never feels rushed or forced. And can we talk about Halvard? Protective, mysterious, AND respectful? Ugh, he had me swooning. His little pet boar, Hogzy, was also a delightful bonus.
The book really shines with its humor and magical elements. There were moments that had me laughing out loud (boar + mud = chaos in the best way), but also some darker twists that kept me on edge. The banter, the protective energy, the slow reveal of powers—it was giving everything I needed.
Lis, the bestie, was such a standout character too. Loved how calm and collected she was, but still ride-or-die. I won’t spoil anything, but her reveal? Whew, didn’t see that coming but it made so much sense.
Now, why 3 stars instead of 5? I think the world-building could’ve used a bit more depth. There were hints of a really rich magical universe, but sometimes it felt like we were skating on the surface. I wanted more—more backstory, more clarity about how the powers work, and more time with some side characters who felt interesting but underused.
Also, some transitions between scenes felt a little abrupt, especially when it came to emotional moments or action scenes. Just a bit more buildup would’ve made those moments hit harder.
That said, the chemistry, the sass, the magic, the drama—it all worked. I really enjoyed the ride, and I’m excited to see what this author does next!...more

From the moment I read the title, I knew I was in for a wild ride—and this book did not disappoint. It had me cracking up, swooning, and side-eyeing some of these bold plot twists all at once.
Right out the gate, I appreciated the content warning (always a thoughtful touch), and the included playlist set the tone perfectly. The main character, Sonny, is a curvy queen who exudes relatable energy and confidence. After a truly awful fat-shaming date (rude!), things take a magical—and steamy—turn, thanks to her goddess-level boss and an old leather-bound book. One margarita later and well, let’s just say her life gets very spicy.
Sonny's dynamic with her hilarious bestie Davey had me laughing out loud, and our love interest? Let’s just say if "tall, dark, enchanted, and knows-all-your-secrets" is your thing, you'll fall hard. There’s lots of humor, a bit of magic, and smut that definitely smuts.
While it’s more fun and fantasy than deep storytelling, the energy was there. It’s like if rom-com met magical realism and then took a detour into thirst trap territory—in the best way. If you’re looking for a quick, steamy read with chaotic fun and heart, give this one a shot (preferably tequila-flavored)....more

This was a quick, spicy read with a unique concept that definitely caught me off guard. The setup is unexpected, the characters have an interesting chemistry, and there are some bold choices that push the boundaries of fantasy romance.
The writing leans heavily into the smut, which some readers will definitely appreciate, though it didn’t fully click for me. There were moments that had me laughing and raising an eyebrow—in a good way—but overall, it wasn't quite my taste.
Still, if you're into unconventional fantasy erotica and want something different, this one might be worth checking out....more

This book started off wild in the best way. The main character? A whole vibe. She's bold, curious, and definitely not shy about what she wants. The love interest? Business-minded, snack-loving, and surprisingly sweet under the surface. Their connection had me laughing, side-eyeing, and rooting for them all at once.
There’s a dating app, a few unexpected twists, and a romance that feels a little like Beauty and the Beast meets modern matchmaking—with a magical twist. Things get spicy, dramatic, and just the right amount of unhinged. I had moments of pure amusement and others where I was yelling at the characters through the pages.
While it didn’t fully hit the mark for me, the originality and humor kept me engaged. If you like your romance a little weird, a little wild, and full of surprises, this might just be your next quirky read....more

I went in expecting dark, spicy horror, but what I got was a full-on fever dream of tentacles, twisted family dynamics, and more “WTF moments than I could count.
The story has two POVs—Elizabeth and Victoria—and while Elizabeth’s chapters had me rooting for her (girl tried to escape, at least), Victoria’s arc had me questioning all of her life choices. Let’s just say there's a line, and this book sprints across it with zero hesitation.
There were definitely moments where I understood the horror element a bit too well. Some plot twists left me side-eyeing the page like, "Did that really just happen?" And yes, there’s a tentacle monster named Willis. I’ll let you sit with that one.
If you’re into body horror, dark themes, and don’t mind some seriously uncomfortable smut, this might be your jam. For me, though? The ick factor outweighed the intrigue. Still, I finished it—mostly out of morbid curiosity. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily....more

This book is totally unhinged in a good way. It leans all the way into absurd comedy, and the long, anime-style chapter titles set the tone right from the start. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I ended up being surprisingly entertained.
The humor is definitely on the outrageous side, and there were moments I had to pause just to laugh (or cringe, lovingly). The author takes risks like big swings and while not everything landed perfectly for me, I appreciate how bold the story was. It's not afraid to be weird, and honestly? That’s kind of refreshing.
There’s also more heart in here than I expected. Underneath all the madness, the main character actually grows, and I found myself unexpectedly rooting for the romance. The emotional payoff at the end was sweet and gave the story a sense of closure I didn’t know I needed.
My main critique: the shock humor sometimes overshadowed the story’s more thoughtful elements. I would’ve loved to see more emotional depth explored sooner it felt like the heart of the story didn’t fully shine until later in the book. A little more balance between chaos and character development would’ve easily bumped this up to a 4 or 5-star read for me.
If you’re into irreverent humor, over-the-top situations, and characters that surprise you in the end, this might be your thing. It’s not for everyone, but it is a wild, oddly touching ride....more
