The story revolves around a boy named Marv-which is a very appropriate name for him- who’s a bit obsessed with UFOs. While on the lookout for extra terrestrials in their small town, Marc and his best friend discover that something sinister might be going on in the woods, and perhaps the otherworldly threat is closer and more real than anyone could imagine.
I really liked the banter in this book in general. Marv’s inner thoughts especially were quite funny to read. And there was definitely more action than I expected, that was a pleasant surprise. The only criticism I could have about this book would be the way Marv is too obsessed with aliens, to the point that I wondered if there was some underlying psychological reference that was being made. But once the action hits, and the sci-fi elements are in, you just leave it to the story, and Marv and his friends, to entertain you till the end.
If you like movies like Jumanji or Zathura, this definitely had the same vibes, highly recommend it.

This was such a unique and fun horror experience for me. The story gripped me from the very start, and it was weird, grotesque, at times funny, and so very entertaining. I loved delving into the world of indie publishing—that sh*t is hard! Also enjoyed the multimedia storytelling sprinkled around. And of course, never forget the pleasure(!) of meeting the horrifying Mister Bones!
This reminded me of the second installment of the Smile franchise, or It Follows, definitely had the same vibes. If you want some fun and yet terrifying horror story about a monster that, once summoned-in the most disturbing way-, steals your bones when you sleep, then go for it. But don’t blame me if when you finish you find yourself believing in Mister Bones, and having your bones stolen and replaced by something else.
