I'm gravitating more and more to YA stories these days.These boys were friends first before attraction took over.It was sweet,sad,heart breaking at times as they navigated their way through a small town homophobic existence.
I'm very late to the party here.There are some great reviews out there....check out CC's HERE because she's said it perfectly.

Marek is very uptight,firmly stuck in the closest.His main focus is his work at an Advertising Agency.He's all about how he appears to others,not wanting to let his defences down.He tries to ignore homophobic slurs from his boss and co-workers,desperately seeking promotion.....but his life is about to be turned upside down with the appearance from someone from his past.
Adrian is the complete opposite.He's open about his sexuality.He's laid back and charming.He's spent the last 5 years travelling but now he's back in Moscow looking for somewhere to stay.
These two men have a past.......they were lovers,until Marek let Adrian slip away.
I don't know how but these Authors create some of the best couples.Dom and Seth are my all time favourite M/M couple ever and I recently read The Black Sheep and The Rotten Apple and loved Evan and Julian but I've got to say Marek and Adrian are right up there.
Marek is a bit of a complex character but I actually got him and really felt for him.He puts on a facade but is deeply unhappy and when Adrian reappears in his life he's conflicted.He wants Adrian but is he willing to let go of his carefully crafted life and be true to himself?
The two men are thrown together,even more,when Adrian approaches the Advertising Agency Marek works for with the idea of starting up a mobile food truck,concentrating on traditional home cooked food.I absolutely loved this aspect.If there's one thing I love in books it's to hear about cooking/food.I loved Adrian cooking in Marek's kitchen making him authentic polish meals when he came home.I visited Poland when I was very young and can't remember much about the food but the food described here sounds delicious
This is a slow burner on the physical side but the attraction between them and sexual tension was more than enough to keep me satisfied and when they do,eventually,get dirty together it's just delicious. And the Epilogue was just perfect.

They meet when they are 17 when Rylans father marries Scotts mother.Rylan has been brought up well by his father unlike Scott who had been shown nothing but contempt from his mother.She became pregnant with him at a young age and blames him for the life she now has......living in a run down trailer,she spends her time drinking too much and whoring herself about.This treatment from his mother has a profound effect on his life.
Scott is stunningly beautiful and thinks his looks are all he has.Ridiculed at school for being poor and having an alcoholic,slut for a mother he puts on a good front.
Rylan is gay and starting a new school he really doesn't want to hide his sexuality.In fact he embraces it.....dying his hair,wearing earings and standing up to the school bullies.For a young boy he showed such strength of character.
Rylan is instantly captivated by Scott's good looks but he also sees past his beauty and tries to convince Scott that he can do something with his life.They are thrown together when they have to share a room.They become friends and start to look out for each other.Things change,though,when Scott kisses Rylan and their sexual adventure begins.For a short time they explore each other,nights spent together in Scotts bed with Rylan dreaming of a future for them.
But life is cruel and when a family secret is revealed,everything changes....
Part One concentrates on their young life and I actually liked this the best.Very surprisingly because YA isn't really my thing but the writing and the characters completely drew me into the story.
Part Two takes place six years later.This is one of my absolute favourite things....I love a story that spans over years.
Rylan is trying to fulfil his ambition of becoming a Photojournalist when he meets Scott again,but he's finding it such a struggle.Scott,on the other hand,is doing well.Working in an up market gay club he's built up a high profile reputation as one of the hottest hosts at the club.
Scott is kind of a lost soul in some ways.Always using his deverstating good looks to get what he wants but,deep down,he craves much more.Rylan still finds him irresistible but is determined to be a friend to Scott.
I loved everything about this book.It's not a fluffy story at all.The characters go through a lot and it's not pretty at times but I've got high hopes that this is going to be an epic love story.

Harrison is only 19 so John was basically lusting after a 16 year old boy.....I found this extremely creepy.John's actual age isn't mentioned,he's just referred to being less than double Harrison's age so I'm guessing about 35? but he came across as being a lot older to me.
On the plus side I loved how the Author created a world where it was ok for men to marry each other in a Historical setting( 19th England ).I did enjoy the writing and definitely would be interested in reading more from this Author but I just couldn't get past the creepy factor and once it was in my head it wouldn't go away.

Colin’s fist flew up and down while his other hand clutched the bedding and his pink-tinged skin beaded with sweat. But his gaze stayed focused on Nevin, sharp and bright as a knife-edge.(...)
The story and their relationship develops at just the right pace and add into the mix a murder/mystery plot incorporated very well into the story and this was a total winner for me.
I would definitely recommend it.

I really didn't know what to expect from Caleb and Oli's story and while I've really enjoyed each book so far,this is definitely my favourite.Nunzio from Sutphin Boulevard is still one of my all time favourite Male characters but Oli is a close second.

Ex of David's from the previous two books.I didn't like him much before but by the end of this I loved him.He's very uptight and has sexual issues.I loved getting inside his head and actually began to understand David more because of it.
The book opens on New Year's Eve and Caleb is at a low point.Everyone around him sees to be happy and in love.That's all he wants..for someone to truly love him.... Who would have known a hot,sexy encounter that night would change his life....he finally lets go of his inhibitions.
Oli
Introduced in book two.... He's a bit of a free spirit.He loves sex but definitely isn't into monogamy....
"I'm not your Prince Charming.I'm a good fuck but I'm not special.If that's what you're thinking,you need to get it out of your head now."
As always with this Author the sex scenes are just delicious and definitely some of the best I've read.They are plentiful but their placement in the story totally relevant.
The secondary characters were great here.I loved Aiden,Caleb's half brother.I would love to get more of his and Jace's story.And Clive,Michaels ex seems like an interesting character.
This could be read on it's own but to really appreciate these great characters I would recommend reading in order.
This Author ticks all the boxes for me in this Genre.I haven't read a book by him I didn't enjoy. Highly Recommended for M/M fans.........

Sorry to say but this was a bit disappointing for me.I've read one of this Author's MC books which I loved and I was expecting all kinds of delicious,dirty and taboo things here but in the end it was just ok.
Ella and Flynn first meet when they are 13 and their respective parents get together.With their raging hormones they are attracted to each other and when they are 16 they are caught getting down and dirty with each other by their parents. There is outrage and Ella is immediately sent away to boarding school.

The book opens when they are 22, six years after being caught,when they are both attending a friend's wedding. The attraction is still there and Flynn is determined nothing will get in their way this time.
It's a short read,only about 98 pages,and the characters were likeable but it just didn't wow me. Secrets are revealed from the past and the story wraps up nicely but I was just expecting it to be a more edgy with the whole,slightly taboo,step brother theme.(view spoiler)[They aren't actually blood related (hide spoiler)]
Again,it might just be me as it's got great reviews but this unfortunately was just an ok read for me....

One thing I've come to expect from picking up a new book by Roan Parrish is never to expect a similar story with new characters.Her books are wonderfully diverse and this is no exception.
Book two in the series ( book one is MF ), but can definitely be read as a standalone.Both characters were introduced in Small Change and if you go both ways in your books I would definitely recommend that one.I was more than a bit fascinated by Jude and,especially,Faron and was really interested in reading their story...

I haven't read many books by Amy Lane but this is,without any doubt,my favourite.I loved pretty much everything about this book.I mean a story spanning over years is totally my thing and add in the angst,feelings-so many damn feelings,happy and sad,the ever present family connections that were so powerful in this story.I cried so many times reading this and it might sound weird but I LOVE it when a book moves me to tears.
Kelly and Matty are brothers and have been friends with Seth from a young age.Named the String Boys after being chosen to learn the violin.But it's Seth that excels,although he doesn't really see his own talent-he just loves to play.Kelly has loved Seth forever but it's Seth watching Kelly sleeping one day that has him recognizing his love for Kelly.
And it's a powerful love.It has to be.They go through so much but I never doubted their love or that they'd make it.Even when things seemed to crumble in front of them their love never wavered.This is one of the most believable love stories I've read in a long time.
Amy Lane tells their story and their struggles and their lives so beautifully.A massively important part of this story in family.Seth's family of two( him and his father ) and Kelly's family-the Cruz family.I could picture all their lives from the faded,worn furniture in their apartments to the laughter and tears as they grew up.
His boy. His beautiful, faraway boy.
One of my favourite books this year(so far)

The writing is superb.It's going down as one of my favourites.Was it perfect? No,it had it's flaws but I couldn't rate it any less than 5 Stars.I was swept up in this Author's words-honestly his writing is so thought provoking.I was hanging on every word.
The story of two men.One who had turned his back on his previous achievements and one who was only existing.
Ian seemed to have the life most would aspire for,but something was missing and his turmoil and pain felt so real,so raw.I got inside his head and felt for him.
The scene setting,in Paris,was beautiful.I've only been there once and like most people,I imagine,you do all the sights.But the Author showed a different Paris here.From Ian's small apartment with it's balcony to the magical side streets with their bars and restaurants and beautiful waiters.Honestly,I was there feeling all of it.
A story of self discovery that will stay with me for a long time.

Azariah/Z was introduced in book one and I couldn't wait for his story. A bit like Ansel(from book one) he's had a troubled past but has managed to turn his life around.But he's at a low point when this book opens.Without giving too much away he's put in an almost impossible position which causes him to make a monumental decision.He's way too proud to ask for help and wants to be in control of his own life.
Connelly is the good guy.Always there to help and try and 'fix' people. He's already been a bit captivated by Z who works at a diner he goes to but his fascination goes into overdrive when he sees Z in his heels and make up.
While this is definitely harder hitting than book one I didn't find it particularly dark,although Z's actions were a bit difficult to read at times. Z definitely went on more of an emotional journey in this one.The conclusion was HFN and I'm really interested to,hopefully,hearing more from these two men in future books. Oh,and I want a Connelly of my own.....just perfect!!
