Its a dark and gritty fantasy universe, talking about war, children of war, human greed and much, much more. There's alto the fantasy aspect. This seems to be highly inspired by japanese beliefs. With animal/human hybrids, as well as complet furries.
The art is also reminisent of Japanese artstyles, like a realistic manga. This probably has to do with the artis being Japanese.
The story is also really good, but we got more questions than answers in this album. Its OK, seeing as it was the first album, but I got a bit confused at points, and thats why it got 4/5 and not a full rating

I really enjoyed the artstyle and the world, but that was it. The characters weren't good, the story was choppy and rough, and the dialog hurt. It felt unfinished.

As with the last book, I don't have much new to say about this book. The writing is good and the characters are evolving. I like that we get to see more of the Inns magic, as well as learn more about them in general. The climax tore my heart out this time as well.
Keeping the original rating. ------------------------- Ok, where is the next book in this series? Where is it? Anyone knows when it'll be out?
So yeah, this was a lot of fun. I really do enjoy these authors and their stories, and can't wait to start some of their other works!

I listened to it as an audiobook, and sometimes it can be the narrators faul I don't like a book. Not this time.
This trilogy has only gotten worse and worse, and while listening to this book three you have no idea how many times I rolled my eyes.
The writer kept repeating what had happened in earlier books again and again and again. Whole chapters to it! It got old really fast.
Also, I didn't find the storu scary or interesting. There were many twists, but I saw them coming when reading the second book in the series. And I hate it when horror stories be they movies or books end the way this one did. Just hate it.
On another note: why only the baby girls? wouldn't it be better to take all the babies, so the boys didn't turn to girls later? (trying to not spoil with this one)...more

It This is the second book in a horror-trilogy by Ambrose Ibsen I picked up on Audible. Book one, Asylum, was nothing new, but fun and creepy enough. It could work as a stand alone, but I wanted to get all the answers, and so I went on to pick up the rest of the series.
This book, book 2, isn't as creepy as book 1, but still creepy enough. It seem to play more on the human psyche, how we can freak out ourselves, more than on anything actually horror related. Had it been the first book in a series, I'm not sure I'd have bothered with the rest of the series. It is an OK book, though, as it is so short, it's not a problem that it's not as creepy as I'd want it.
One thing I've noticed, though, is how this author isn't really original in any way. He tell good stories, but it isn't the best books, if you know what I mean? ...more

Whenever they started, I would think of DNFing the book, but knowing it wasn't always like that, was the only thing keeping me going.
That said, I did like this story, overall. The thing I liked most, though, was probably the ending. I often wonder about what happens after a book ends, and there are still things I wonder about with this story, but thankfully I got most of the answers, if not all....more

"Seven to Eternity" was such a recommendation, and it hit the spot.
This is a dark fantasy story, as far as I can tell. Already we've gotten a feel of the world and magics, of the characters and of the story. I liked all of it.

When I started reading this, I was pleasantly surprised. On that first page I thought I'd found a good author, with a nice language and control over his characters. As I read on, though, it became clear the only good thing with the language, was the flow. It was great. I flew through it, despite all the weird phrases and repetitions.
I didn't really get a feel for the setting or characters, and the only reason this story didn't get 2/5 stars plain, was the comment from the Beast at the end. I totally agree with it. ...more

Picking up the first book of this series on an Audible sale must have been one of the smartest buys I've ever done. I've grown to love this series, these characters, this world, and the narrator. I know there is a spin—off coming out next year I've already pre—ordered it but I don't want to never see these characters again.
But, about this last book. I had some doubths when I started it, as I wasn't sure what kind of story it would be, with what I thought was the end of the arc in bookfour. That was right, but this held a new arc, that worked. I got nervous from it, and so angry I at times had to stop listening. And at the end, I smiled and almost cried.
Yes, the story was a bit slow, but not more than what I thought in book one, and as with book one, I think the fact I listened to it as an audiobook helped. I didn't often notice, though, but I think I'm at the edge of.joining a fandom here, so I may be really bias

Fisher's books keep popping up on audible, though, and so I tried my hands(ears) on this one. Last audiobook of the year?
"The Princess Diarist" is a book about Carrie Fisher VS Leya, almost. Carrie talks about her time on set, how she got the role, and what that role has meant for her until just before ep. 7 was released.
I do find Fisher enjoyable to listen to so much that I now hear her voice in my head as I'm reading "The Handmaid's Tale" and I do find it fascinating to learn about her life.
My biggest problem with this book, was probably the diary parts. They were read by somebody else, and that was a no—go for me. Did enjoy the poetry, though...more

This is the first book in Margaret Atwood's post-apo trilogy, MaddAddam. I've already read book 2, which isn't a problem, because it tells the story from book 1, from a whole different POV - two, to be precise. I will be honest and say I thought book one would be a bit more like book two, but that was not the case.
That fact made me really glad I'd already read book 2. When reading book 2, I felt I often had to stop to think about the things being said. There was a lot of backstory withing the original story, which was a bit confusing. In book 1, however, we don't get that same level of backstory, which was OK, not that I knew it, but I think I would have wondered about it, if I didn't already know.
In this book we follow a character we meet in book 2, but much closer here, and his POV is the only POV - which is good, as he jumps back and forth in time a lot! This could be confusing if we saw it from multiple POVs But this worked.
Other than that, I honestly don't know what to say. It was an OK listen, and I'm actually itching to start reading the last book in the series, even if I'm currently reading something else... ...more
