Twenty-five vastly different genres of writings wrapped up like an unexpected wonderous gift. Georgia Cook takes us effortlessly from whimsey to romance to absolute horror without missing a beat. Out of the entire book there was only one tale that I was not completely enamoured with, and even that one was a well written story. The book was recommended to me by an author whose works I very much enjoy so I decided to take a leap of faith and add it to my TBR pile. I am very glad that I did. Lindsay and Liam, brother and sister, are polar opposites in choice of career but brother and sister none-the-less. It is a Lindsay Lane story but Liam does feature in it pretty strongly along with an interesting cast of characters to fill the story. The book was well written, held a great pace, and gave a satisfying end. I wonder if Lindsay will pop up in future books. I know I would not mind. That being said, I am decades beyond that age group and I was captivated by the story of a special little mouse and how she and her brother worked tirelessly to save a little girl and her family from a relentless evil. I never was bored or lost my interest. Terrific little read. I received a copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving my opinion of the tale....more

Each book really can be read alone but there is a thread woven between the crimes. The victims all live within a certain vicinity of one another. Presenting the tales as if following a podcast has been a very intriguing and fascinating way of writing the series. In The Cabin, we again get three perspectives of the tale. One by the host of the podcast, Molly Shure: one by the victim, Fiona and one by the perpetrator (who shall remain nameless in this review). It was a terrific windup to the series but perhaps not the end of tales from our host. I hope not as I thoroughly enjoyed this format of delivering the stories. I received a copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving my opinion of the tale....more

While skiing , hot chocolate and a lovely spa are on the menu they got much much more. Taking the ladies out of the hotel in London gave a new background to romp in but murder just seems to find our friends no matter where they go. It was a fun read. I do enjoy this group of companions and their antics. A wonderful clean little whodunnit as always. As always, the book begins with a crime and Bailey's involvement is a little too close to home for comfort. I have read more than a few of Melinda Woodhall's books and they never feel stale to me. Each one is a fresh tale told expertly and I have enjoyed each and every one. Forsaken Souls was enjoyed by me as much as the first book of this author's that I picked up, and I am positive that I will enjoy the next just as much. To completely understand the trials of the coven that has taken in Dani and her daughter Grace, one really should read the previous books but one could enjoy the story whether the reader does or not. While Dani is still trying to learn to strengthen her powers she finds she must speed things up a bit when a friend is thrust into the middle of a terrible crime and is looked at as a person of interest by the police. Lilly and her group are such wonderful characters and the scenes outside in the evenings are ones I would dearly love to be a part of. There is such a camaraderie among the base characters in the ways they love and support each other that they feel almost like old friends after the reader has spent a few tales with them. A grave Situation has Lilly desperately attempting to help the FBI with old cases before the clock runs out on them. As an added stress, one of Lilly's customers goes missing and she fears he has been murdered and that it may be connected to what she is working on. There was a lot of action in this one, some putting Lilly in a grave situation indeed. I received a copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving my opinion of the tale....more

The Manor reads like a fairy tale romance (at first). I say at first because it slowly swerves far from that trope and into something completely different. Little by little Willow's unease in her situation turns to true fear. The last quarter of the book keeps the heart rate up and the reader glued to the pages. Terrific read. Book 7 will be bittersweet as it brings the series full circle and sadly to it's conclusion. What a ride this has been and I am ready for the homestretch. The first two books of the trilogy are spectacular reads. Marvelous characters in Arista and her auntie Bethie Spiritbrite, and a deep dark study in evil in Arista's Uncle Fergus. Moonset on Desert Sands is such an easy story to sink into, as was book #1, Murder Under Redwood Moon. Dodd gives us a rich tapestry of a tale that the reader is drawn straight into. Well written, easy rhythm, and just a wonderful telling. As this is book two in a trilogy, waiting for book three will have me on pins and needles. Can't wait to sink back into this world. Having enjoyed those so immensely I was excited when Ardoin started a new series especially when I read there was going to be a time loop involved. What fun! I have to say, I think I like this new series the most. There are just so many layers to Luke's story, it had to be a job and a half for Ardoin to try to remember which came first. Was this new information, would he know these facts in this sequence of events or was this another cycle's information. I cannot say enough regarding my enjoyment of this book. Suffice it to say it has me itching for the next in the series. I received a copy of this book through the author and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion of the tale....more
