Unfortunately, I was disappointed by this book, and I'm shocked it has an average of 4 stars here. (As of the time of this review)
While the synopsis was interesting to me, the character and story development fell short. The writing was very repetitive in places where repetition was not needed. The story takes place in three fabulous cities, New York, Paris, and Rome. Spending time in those cities through the book could have been fun, but the storyline didn't allow for too much exploration of those settings. The story takes in the present day with a small secondary pandemic that traps the characters in place for a few months. I felt deeply that this could have been a Covid story, lasting longer and giving more room for the storyline to develop and the characters to grow in a relatable situation. I didn't connect with the new short lockdown. In short, I could have red the synopsis of this book, walked away, and would not have missed anything.
If you are a fan of Danielle Steel and want to see if her latest is for you, I recommend getting it from your local library. If you are new to Danielle, she has 190+ books for you to choose from. I recommend starting with another title....more

The setting (Prince Edward Island) was so spectacular and beautdepicted, I started planning a future trip to PEI while reading the book, and I can't wait to visit some day. Hopefully, sooner than later! I feel like PEI is up there with Nantucket for me, I'll be able to read endless books set there because I love being transported to the island's setting if I can't actually go myself. The storyline holds secrets, which I was anxious to learn about because the secret keeping irritated me, haha. But, in good timing, all is revealed, and plenty of story is still left to enjoy. I recommend this book, especially if you're on the #beach, in a #bookclub, or simply enjoying summer nights and a glass of your favorite drink....more
