The narrative is incredibly disjointed, making it difficult to piece together relationships/revelations among the main characters. Only the character of Pearl seems to be a valid victim, and the character of Skinner seems simply psychopathic. I do appreciate that the vampires are monsters rather than sparkly and wonderful, but the motivations of the European vampires along with Skinner are murky at best. I'll pass on the rest of the series....more
