Never gets old... it gets newer every time. For example, I never noticed the recurring topic of the Egyptians before. Toward the beginning of the book when he's with his history teacher, he thinks writing an essay about the ancient Egyptians is the most boring activity in the world, but when he talks to the random kids he sees in the park, he's so excited to explain about the mummies. There's also the part where when he's watching the movie, he's bothered by the mother sitting nearby who cries during the movie but won't let her kid go to the bathroom. But he doesn't react like that when Phoebe complains that when she was at her movie, her friend's mother wouldn't stop pestering her daughter if she was feeling ill or not. In fact, so much that after a couple days of reading this I started to constantly check myself of my thoughts because I felt uneasy that someone might be listening to them! I hated the ending though, I absolutely hated it. Who would even call this a complete novel with a cliffhanger like that?...more

But so many things suddenly made sense to me compared to when I read it at 13. His fantasy books never fail me, and it's such a shame that not many people agree with them!! Definitely need to read the second and third books again. ...more
