Took me ages to finish it, and I didn't want to quit it in the hopes that it'd get better, but.. oh well! While a few parts were moving, unfortunately, overall, the book failed to induce any strong emotions, which I was expecting it would. The unnecessarily lengthy chapters gave the impression as if the author was only trying to fulfill some word count....more

Misspelled Urdu words irked me a little too much! I understand the author鈥檚 difficulty with the language but if you really wanted to include a language, then how about getting it proofread from an expert? Also, the scenes were repeated multiple times with unnecessary details 鈥 describing each incident from each character鈥檚 POV might have been okay if I was watching a show with episodes but became a real drag for a book! Plus, it was made apparent as if Amar was ready to forgive everyone and make amends for his wrongdoings after his discussion with Baba at Hadia鈥檚 wedding (the story should鈥檝e ended there) but he still cuts everyone off and vanishes鈥? He wasn鈥檛 aware of Hadia going against him behind his back and he still trusted her fully then what made him keep in touch with Hadia鈥檚 son but not with her?
Lastly, while trying to give an image of their Hyderabadi roots, I think the author went a little too far at some places 鈥 who really does 鈥榓daab鈥 in this time and age?!...more

Major turn While the book keeps one hooked because you really wish to know what the patients go through, it becomes a little too repetitive at times.
Major turn off for me was the creep doctor vibes it gave every time a female patient case was discussed 鈥 it felt uncomfortable to read how unnecessarily the focus would be on their appearance. Ugh. ...more
