The cover for Voices by R. E. Rowe is pretty good. It could use some more sass but I like that the book cover is connected to the actual story. The first chapter is interesting so it got me to reading more of the book but it was super sloooooow. I don’t like slow beginnings. Nothing was happening for, like, half the book. There’s that romance thingy and yes, it was insta-love. Fortunately, the insta-love did not annoy me that much, I’d say it was okay. The two main characters, Aimee and Reizo, are so sweet to each other and they are so cute together. They paint together, how cuuuuute is that? I also had ‘All The Bright Places vibe in the beginning of the book but they’re really different books.
When I was about 58% into the story, real stuff began to happen. For me, the whole Zeke Sarov thingy was a little too dramatic and unrealistic. I couldn’t quite connect to the characters; I just want to finish the book to know the ‘The Cloud part. I don’t care what happens to the characters. The ending did shock me a little though and it was a little heartbreaking. I want to know what happens in the second book because Voices ended with a cliffhanger but I don’t think I would read the second book immediately.
Voices is quite an interesting book because it deals with reincarnation. I think it was my first time (if I’m not wrong???) to read a book that has reincarnation thingy in it and I’d say reading Voices is an okay experience for me. If you want a light but mysterious read, then add Voices to your TBR now! :)

I was pretty sure I read all 1-5 books in TMI series but I feel like I jumped over this one and read City of Lost Souls first years ago. I forgot! Anyway, this book made me a mad Sizzy trash and I regret nothing. Though I started to hate Jace again but I'm trying very hard to understand his situation.

I have to admit that I'm not really a big fan of science fiction and fantasy books. There are only a few books that I love from those genre and I'm glad to say that A Spark of White Fire is one of those books!
It took half of the book for me to get into it. It's not the book's fault, really. Like I said earlier I'm not into fantasy and science fiction that much. I just trusted Shealea enough when I saw her tweet recommendation of this book that I know I have to keep going in the story. After the 50% or so, it hooked me into the story and never let me go!
It is a story of gods, family drama, manipulation and secrets. Those themes may be present in like almost fantasy/science fiction books but this book is something that I've never read before. It left me breathless and just wanting the next book!
Have you read A Spark of White Fire? What did you think of it? What other fantasy and science fiction books do you recommend for me?

Shadow Girl was the book I needed to get me up from my reading and blogging/reviewing slump. It's not a book that may win literary awards but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and it's all that matters.
From reading the synopsis you may get a super creepy vibe but the book wasn't really like that. Well I admit that I almost stopped reading it because of my mind imagining super creepy things but this book mainly focused on personal and family issues and the mystery took a backseat.
I like Mei, the main character, and related to her in a way that she doesn't see her own flaws and only the mistakes of the other people around her. Her character development was not fast paced, it took some time and some hard realizations on her part to change her ways.
I must say that the romance is super cute and I like how things between Mei and Henry got towards the end of the book.
This season is the perfect time to read the book because it is summer in the book but the mystery makes you crave for the autumn weather....more

After reading three Young Adult Mystery books published by Merit Press I can say that they have all sucked me into their own world. I applaud Merit Press for publishing books like Aftermath that are so, so, so important and needs to be read by many.
I cannot help but sympathize over Charlotte and what her family has gone through. If I can, I want to hug Charlotte and be there for her in every step of the way. She’s a character who has gone through so much, she’s strong but she isn’t aware of it. She loves her family so much and cannot helped but to feel betrayed when her family fell apart when she was gone. You will root for her, her recovery and for her family.
Clara Kensie wrote Aftermath using simple words but those words really stuck with me. This book did not try to be intimidating it was simple but captivating and beautiful all at the same time. Aftermath showed every ugly and heartbreaking side to what happens to a child when she has gone missing and the wreckage it contributes to the family. It was hard to stop myself from crying while reading an emotional scene. This book is also packed with a lot of shocking plot twists that will leave you confused and hurt.
Overall, Aftermath is an important book that everyone must read. News of missing people, missing kids were just like that to me before–they are only news. I did not realize that each child has a name, a family, friends that are waiting for them to come home. They have dreams that are waiting to be pursued. They may even have pets that are waiting for them at their doorstep.Ìý If I can and when presented with an opportunity, I really want to help families with missing children. I want to volunteer, do something, help in any way I can. Big thanks to Clara Kensie for writing this beautiful book and helping me realize these things.

I was really excited for Dig Too Deep before reading it because from reading the synopsis, it sounds so so so awesome! And guess what? It is! Firstly, I really like the cover of Dig Too Deep. I think it really reflects what the book is all about and the colors and illustration are just gorgeous!
The book has just the right pacing. I was never bored throughout the book and I want more after finishing each chapter. It's a book that anticipates me for what happens next! I haven't read a book like that for long time.
Liberty, our girl, is a strong character but she was not always like that, especially in the beginning. She had great, but realistic, character development. My only problem would be that something was off with this boy she liked and she didn't notice it but I kinda get where she is coming from and why she didn't notice it. But other than that, Lib is fab! The other characters rock too! My favorite would be Lib's sassy grandmother, though Dobber comes a close second!
Dig Too Deep also provides some information about mountain top removal but without being such an info dump. I've heard about MTR and some documentaries also revealed that this thing also happens in some provinces in my country. I didn't really watched those documentaries before but because of Dig Too Deep, I am now aware of what is happening to those communities.
Dig Too Deep by Amy Allgeyer is unlike any other Young Adult book I have read. Not only that the main character is fierce, strong and determined, she also fought for a very important cause. Dig Too Deep deals with many issues (economic, terminal illness, poverty, addiction, fear, family problems) but the author managed to wove all those things into an insightful and impactful, amazing debut novel. I would surely read Amy Allgeyer's next books.

How to Love made me feel two things: it made me swoon and also annoyed. First, let me tell you the things I really liked in this book:
The cover! It’s simple but it’s in my second favorite color sooo <3 The font is very lovely, too. The writing is beautiful. It made me feel all the feels. I love how Katie Cotugno told the sexy scenes. I think it’s very beautiful and artful. Reena is sometimes an annoying character but I kinda get where she’s coming from. What I liked though is how strong and brave she is for raising a child and still attend college. Shelby, Reena’s best friend is fabulous. I wish I have a friend like her! The pacing. This book made me want to read and read and read and just finish it! I'm always so curious of how things happened. It's sooo high school!ÌýThis book made me remember all my high school adventures and of course, the guys I liked then and yup, even loved.
I would probably give this book 4 stars if it weren’t for these things:
First up, Sawyer. What a dick. I don’t get why he cheated on Allie just so he can be with Reena. He told Reena he noticed her even before they got together but I just didn’t see it. If he did then why did he still stick with Allie? I just don’t get it. He's just a dick boyfriend in general. The ignorance of Reena's pregnancy. So Sawyer and Reena kinda grew up together because their parents are friends and business partners (right???) So they have this Sunday dinner thingy. When Sawyer got Reena pregnant the parents went on with their usual business and never cared about Reena. They still went on with their dinners and what Reena did is she didn’t attend those dinners anymore just so she won't be able to be in one place as Sawyer's parents. If their families are really good friends then why didn't they discuss Reena's pregnancy? They obviously know Sawyer is the guy who got her pregnant. Poor Reena. Reena. I liked her but can she please stop treating her life like a teen movie? She’s supposed to be an adult and I know Sawyer is so damn attractive and he’s her first and great love but really, after a few talks they had when Sawyer got back she cheated on her boyfriend just to be with him?? Cheating. Cheating was done twice in this book. Puh-lease. Once again, it's sooo high school!ÌýReena acted like she was still a junior in high school when she obviously should be an adult. I just expected that there would be a huge character development because of what she's been through. I'm not a big fan of the ending.
What I want more:
I wish there are more mommy and daughter moments from Reena and Hannah. It would be just so adorable reading how she loves her daughter. I was also curious how Aaron and Reena’s relationship really were. I felt like I never really got a real glimpse of their relationship.
