I wondered what the title was about, i thought it was that Integrity would die to have peace between the Famori and the Sihde. Naive, I know. Dumb, too. Then I realised that Grity still had one wish left in her Smitar.
I have still not gotten over the fact that Grity is a fucking pacifist. I'm not against because, hello, it's actually good and doesn't hurt anybody (see what I did there?) But i was ticked off when there was no one on one action in the whole series. Then again, how often is a pacifist the main character in a series?
Great story. Great characters. Awesome setting (Scotland). Fab love interest. Magic. Adventure. What else can you ask for?

Integrity stars in the Games. SPOILER AHEAD!!!!!!!! (You have been warned.) I was sooo angry when Byron won. Yes, i do. (Lie him). And yes, I do. (Ship them). But Integrity deserved to win 100.1%, not Byron. And I get that Byron had to demonstrate what a great honourable person he is, and how generous he is, but Integrity won. Fair and square.

Adeptus Exemptus Winter is back, with another murder and mystery. This time it takes her to the set of Enchantment, her favourite show of all time.
This book includes hallucinations, Scotts, more cats, Highlands, sheep, zombies and more magic.
Another must read for anyone. The world building is kind of cool. A mix between the modern world and magic, a place where Oxford is not only a campus for students, it's also where the Order resides....more

Ivy Wilde is a witch who was kicked out of the "Hallowed Order of Magical Enlightenment" aka Order for assault and copying. After that, she vows not to have anything to do with the Order. But after being mistaken for her Order enthusiast neighbor, she is magically bound to Winter, Adeptus Exemptus Winter. They have to solve mysteries, yada yada yada.
Ivy is a highly lazy witch. She definitely gives lazy a new meaning. But she's extremely likable. Give the fact that she's wicked smart, she is some heroine.
*Important fact* Her familiar (cat) talks and likes to say bitch.
Adeptus Exemptus Winter is a cold, driven guy. He doesn't let anyone get between him and what he wants. If what stops him is the laziest witch, he is capable of making her go to the gym.
*VIF (Very Important Familiar)* Princess Parma Periwinkle, she doesn't talk.
It was an entertaining read, worth every hour and penny. If you don't like it yoy can take it up with me. :)

Baby Daddy (oops, was that a spoiler?) aka "what's a woman to do" aka Ryder. (Even the name is sexy...) He is one sexy man. The epitome of sexy, sweet & thoughtful, he is as close to perfect as you can get. Minus the whole commitment phobia thing, but that is just part of who he is. One sexy m. (Beep) Plus he is down to do strange things, tho i guess he also gets something out of it... One thing he does have going is his voice.
He could read the phone book and make it sound like foreplay, which means everything he says makes you feel like a cat in mating season, even if he’s talking about changing the toner in the copy machine. I’d probably have a dirty dream about toner if he did.
My sista' from another mista' aka Baby Mama aka our romantic heroine... Drumroll please... Nicole. I don't have words for her. She gives love advice for a living, banters with her sexy co-worker... She got it all, girl. She is a funny, sassy and sexy woman, and she owns it.
“Ladies, I say, in a serious tone. “Soldiers on the dating battlefield. Comrades in bras. Let’s all say a prayer tonight. A prayer for Rachel. I bow my head. “If you’ve been lucky enough to climax with a partner, I ask that you send some of your orgasmic energy to Rachel in Murray Hill."
You can feel The Chemistry and The Sexual Tension (doesn't last too long *wink*) through the pages, it's just sizzling. The compliment each other perfectly, like bread and banana. They are both chuckle-inducing, sex appeal masters, and nothing feels forced or awkward with them. Added plus, they're both dog people. Squeee.
Final thoughts All in all, it was a fantastic story from dual POVs.
Definitely worth the read.

…Yeah, it was great. […] I devoured it in one night, I couldn't put it down. […] It really drew me in from the begging. The story of Ryder and Nicole was captivating, I wanted to know what was going on. […] Kinda makes you want a Ryder in your life. Haha. If only I was some kind of Nicole (mumbles incoherently)...

This was surprisingly great. It had been a long time since i had read a historical fiction, especially victorian. But i wasn't expecting anything like this.
It was a captivating, entertaining story. Very clean, and funny.
It follows the story of a suffragist who works for an incredibly chauvanist bloke, who only allows her to work if she is dressed as a man. He treats her like a lady, but refuses to accept her as one (if that makes any sense).
For being a relatively long novel, it goes by quite fast, Robert Thier makes it work.

This review is long over due, i realized... Let's get on with it.
I'm pretty surprised i got a free copy of this book, given it's huge success, but i wasn't going to let it go, especially after seeing how my friends all loved it.
And i wasn't let down, at all. The storyline looked promising enough... And it was great.
It was a very cute and fluffy book, because honestly, that crush was totally cute. Cannon was just too adorable... (Is that even enough to describe him?) He is not only cute & adorable, he is also sexy, tall, smart......... Etc, etc. He got it all. Except... he is cursed with sex *gasp*
Honestly, i was a bit sceptical with that, but i went on with it. He just seemed a bit too full of himself, but oh well, nobody's perfect.

"Whatever you've heard about Caraval, it doesn't compare to the reality. It's more than just a game or performance. It's the closest you'll ever find yourself magic in this world.
This really was a magical read. It drew me in, it held me captive, it put a spell on you. (Since it's Halloween today... I can honestly see Stephanie Garber listening to "I put a spell on you" while writing this book, that would explain a lot.) Anyway, what I was saying. It was fantastic. It wasn't just the fact that there was magic, it was also the writing, it was magical, enchanting. The words fit in perfectly, it matched, it worked, and I am happy because of it.
It completed me.
Somehow, the whole thing reminded me of Alice in Wonderland.
“Welcome, welcome to Caraval! The grandest show on land or by sea. Inside you’ll experience more wonders than most people see in a lifetime. You can sip magic from a cup and buy dreams in a bottle. But before you fully enter into our world, you must remember it’s all a game.
Oh, yeah. The sipping magic from a cup, and buying dreams in a bottle. There was also a store shaped like a top hat, there's that.
A wondrous thing was all the Spanish names. Julian Bernardo Marrero Santos and La Serpiente de Cristal, for example, really put a yearning in me. A yearning to go to Spain, which is ironic because I live in Spain... It made me want to listen Flamenco, (not from my area), and I don't even like it, ironically. I also wanted to talk with that sexy accent, which I already have... Again, ironically.
Disclaimer: SPOILERS I did not like the ending. Honestly, not at all. I don't like it when (view spoiler)[a main character thinks they were behind every action, and it turns out someone else pushed them to do something, ie, Donatella being the one that got them into Caraval... The kiss of deception I have no idea why it has the title, but I'll bear with it.
I didn't really expect the book to be like that, but it pleasantly surprised me. I was confused with the whole Rafi/Kaden-Prince/Assassin, and i didn't realize who was who, but i think the author intended it to be like that. All in all the book was good.
Second book This book i didn't like so much. There wasn't much action, and this whole not deciding between Rafi and Kaden was starting to get on my nerves.
The beauty of darkness This book was a slight improvement on the other one. But the final battle was kind of disappointing, all this build up and then (almost) suddenly nothing. It was lacking
The series
It was good, but the best book was the first one. Again i repeat, i was confused with the Assassin/Prince deal, and i was surprised at the reveal. Another aspect i enjoyed was the world-building. The whole Venda-Morrighan- business was fascinating. And Venda's different tribes were also a plus. Actually, Venda was a plus.
I recommend this to anyone who's in a fantasy reading stump, it'll probably get you back up....more

We moved inland, picking our way through a field of corpses, all of whom we would see later, alive, at dinnertime. I could’ve taken some pretty funny photos, but camera phones were heavily discouraged on the field of combat. You know how it is. Somebody snaps a picture of you dead in an embarrassing pose, it makes the popular page on Instagram, then you get teased about it for centuries.
As always, Rick has delivered an awesome story, full of funny moments and great puns and marvelous characters (get it? Marvel-ous characters, haha). Any review written just isn't isn't enough to contain every good part, won't do it justice. But i will attempt it.
Synopsis "spoiler freeish
Thor's Hammer is still missing, and now that Sam is being married off to a giant as part of Loki's plan, and with new addition to their "family", Alex Fierro, they set out to retrieve this magical artefact and stop this wedding, encountering many trials and challenges... Yada yada yada.
Now, don't get me wrong, i love any book that will ever come out of Uncle Rick's hands, but Magnus isn't my favourite one. Percy, Nico, Leo & Carter will always remain at the top of my list. Magnus is great in his own way, but it's hard to compare.
Now what i really love about the book is the setting. I think i have now come to love Norse mythology, along with the characters. Valhalla being a kind of hotel is a genius idea.
When choosing an afterlife, it’s important to consider location. Suburban afterlives, as in Folkvanger and Niflheim, may offer lower costs-of-not-living, but Valhalla’s Midgard entrance is right in the heart of the city, on Beacon Street across from the Boston Common. You’ll be within easy walking distance of the best shops and restaurants, and less than a minute from the Park Street T station! Yes, Valhalla. For all your Viking paradise needs. (Okay, sorry. I told the hotel management I’d put in a plug. But it was pretty easy getting back home.)
Anyway, even if Magnus isn't my favorite character, i still enjoyed the book.
‘I hate this guy, I said. ‘How do you know it’s a guy? Jack asked. The sword had a point. (Sorry, I keep stumbling into that pun.)

You may call me a hypocrite, but it's the truth. In reality, the book is funny, -just as everyone said it would be- but it just didn't really draw me in. This might be because i was 2 weeks without reading, and i just didn't absorb and soak all the goodness.

Now that this series is finally over, my life will lose some of it's sense. Every so often, we find a book that is worth the cliffhanger, and this was it for me. After almost a year of waiting, i finally read it. And i am heartbroken.
Marie Lu knows how to deliver and end. She built up the story as the series advanced, and the end was just that, an end.
Everything got darker the more we read, and we still yearn for some light to be shed on Adelina. We know she struggles, and we know her darkness, and we love her for it. But we can't help hoping. And maybe that was our downfall.

1st off, I would like to be honest with anyone reading this. Yesterday i said i would write the review as son as possible, and i did actually want to 1st off, I would like to be honest with anyone reading this. Yesterday i said i would write the review as son as possible, and i did actually want to. It's just that ...(here i am giving excuses, again)... my brain got sidetracked, and here I am.
Now, on with the book.
I started reading the book basically because it was Fantasy, my absolute favourite genre. Also, most of my friends had read it, and liked it, so it was a must read. So i joined the "hype", half a year later. I didn't have anything else, so i shrugged and went on.
And i'm partially glad
When i read the description, i had no idea what the book was about. I was OK, sounds good. What's it about? But i never realised it, at least not until the very end.I lived in doubt. Then it hit me →the trees. Nieshka (whatev' her name is) kept talking about the Wood(s?) and it's corruption, and the title, it should've hinted me. Alas, i was too dumb to understand and see what was in front of my eyes. I was surprised, to say the least, when i realised what it was about. And even to this day i'm still wondering if i really understood it.
Anyway, let me get on with what I actually liked about the book. (Sorry for any possible spoilers.)
Magic. It was heavenly. The way it was described here, i loved it. It actually made sense to me, when all my life i had been so far from magic, and i was finally able to touch it, to feel it. So poetic...Let me explain, magic was describes as a song, it had a rhythm, it had rhyme, and a melody. Dragon's words were rhythmic and stiff like, while Nieshka's flowed more like a gentle yet strong river. I repeat, i felt it.
Now, as for what i didn't like.
°°°I feel like I still live in a fairytale world, where every single thing is utter and complete perfection, so, no flaws.°°° Yet i can't bring myself to give the book 5 stars, mostly because i walked around in darkness in the beginning, stumbling over anything, and basically feeling clueless. Dang it, i'm on a roll here.
With all that, i gotta end my review.
But wait, i forgot to add my one and only funny quote.
He’d also agreed to be betrothed to the Archduke of Varsha’s daughter, a girl of nine who had evidently impressed him a great deal by being able to spit across a garden plot. I was a little dubious about this as a foundation for marriage, but I suppose it wasn’t much worse than marrying her because her father.
Again, i forgot to mention the heartbreaking story of the trees, it really completes the story the way nothing else would. Nice touch author.
Life tip: Don't let bitterness rule your life and decisions, you might end up as an evil tree and skip your eternal rest.
And as for the romance, not much to talk about here....more
