Being a vintage and New York City fanatic, this was a magical read. Learning about Tiffany & Co behind the scenes (and in the forties) was so awesome, and the fact that the author and her best friend were the first female employees to work on the sales floor is amazing! I've never been inside the Tiffany's on fifth avenue but I have stood outside it and it is a magnificent building, I remember first learning about Tiffany's after watching "Breakfast At Tiffany's" and wishing that I could be like Holly Golightly and go eat a croissant in front of Tiffany's every morning. This book made me adore the company even more! If you want a light, fun, read I would definitely suggest this. If you love history, New York, or Tiffany's you'll fall in love with "Summer At Tiffany". ...more

In The Afterlight started off kinda slow in my opinion but picked up around half way through and that's when my rating changed from a four to five. When we found out Clancy was in her mind this whole time and listening in on the messages and discussions, I was completely shocked. Right when Ruby was going to kill Lillian, I knew he was probably controlling her. I hated Clancy throughout this trilogy because he is a manipulative bastard (let's not sugarcoat anything), but I did love how Ruby took away his bad memories and made him forget all things involving being an orange and the tests ran on him at camp.
Ruby and Liam are also now one of my favorite ships because they are seriously just the cutest. I usually prefer the bad boys in books but Liam is such a sweetie pie and I can't help but adore him. How he calls her darlin' and Ruby Tuesday, it's too much :") they had some problems in this book, but it was completely understandable. The scene where they were in the dorms during dinner and also when they had sex were my favs ;) they're just so damn cute and I can't stress that enough!
Vida and Chubs were another favorite aspect of this book. I totally called that they would hook up and I DIED when Chubs said he was building shelves and then out comes Vida LOL! Liam's line to Ruby asking if she wanted to go build shelves afterwards was the best. I think they compliment each other so well & their sassy personalities made for great comic relief throughout the book.
Another thing that I really enjoyed during this trilogy was ruby's transformation. She went from being this quiet and scared girl to a fierce leader. She went from cowering from PSI's in The Darkest Minds to standing up for herself and basically slaying them in, In The Afterlight. I lost it when she was reunited with her grams and parents, it made me so happy to see her happy. Liam sucking up to her grams though, THAT BOY I TELL YA. Let's not forget he purposely got everyone in an elevator before him and Ruby so they could makeout for a bit. <3
AND ZU SPOKE! when she came back I cried, same with when she started talking and chubs ran and hugged her. It was BEYOND precious.
This has been such a long review but to finish it up, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this book and am sad that I'm finished with this trilogy! I'm so glad that they can finally live in peace now and go on roadtrips while listening to the beach boys :") I would definitely recommend this series to anyone looking for great characters and a very intriguing plot! ...more
