Oh, how I can list the ways.
- Confusing time jumps - Chapters and chapters of the MC's just stewing and plotting but not actually doing anything. - No real development of the story up until the last 90% of the book - No real conversation between the MC's. This is the 5th of a 6 part series and at point I want the MC's to actually say more than 3 words to each other. - I dont know who was talking or who's perspective we were in half the time - Even more drama on top of pre-existing drama.
This has been one of my favorite series but this one really let me down. It felt rushed and unfinished. I've never minded typos or grammatical errors before, but when ive waited this long for this come out, and they pop up everywhere on top of a half-assed book, I start to get mad.
I still love all of the characters but, goddam, can we PLEASE just get them back together and STAY together already?!?!? If theres only one book left and each book is only 200 pages than thats not enough time for their reunion to feel real.
I guess ill wait another 6 months for the next one to come out :/ ...more

This book was the strangest thing.... the writing was pretty bad, the characters were awful, and the plot was lazy BUT I COULDNT STOP READING. That has to count for something right? So 3 very conflicting stars.
First off, let me start off that this author blatantly ripped off other popular romance books and combined it to make this one. It was a combination of... Bully by Penelope Ward The Four Horseman Series by Laura Thalassa Raw by Belle Aurora
Dont get me wrong, I loved all of these and I can re-read them and versions like it over and over again. But it comes off as lazy when you spot the similarities. Sometimes it was so blatant that I would burst out laughing.
Secondly... the writing... I'll leave one of my favorite quotes to make fun of and ill let you decide.
"His name gets stuck in my throat like smoke.... He's like smoke.... Suffocating, slippery, and undecipherable."
I think this author fancies herself a poet. She aint. These are high school kids, calm down with the adjectives.
And the last thing ill say is.... The author actually did a good job of creating sexual chemistry even though it was SUPER PROBLEMATIC. The hero basically admits that hes sexually assaulting and harassing the heroine... and he gets away with it. BUT if you can turn off your feminist brain for a few hours, strap in for some soap opera level drama, you'll really enjoy it. Its easy reading. You dont have to think too hard and the twist thats about to come up is so predictable its funny.
TLDR: A watered down guilty pleasure. You're not missing anything if you dont read it.. but if the bully genre tickles your fancy, you'll enjoy it.
Safety: Safe for the most part.
*Hero isnt a manwhore.. there MIGHT be ex drama but its undefined - Theres an OW thats possessive of H and causes distress to the h, but theres alot of details that we aren't getting. *Heroine is a virgin, cause duh *Sexual harassment, manipulation, humiliation done by hero to heroine *Super posessive and obsessive H *Betraying body h... but sometimes I didnt mind it *lots of push and pull. Both H and h pretend to be into other people to get the others attention. *Regular high school drama ...more

This had one of the most infuriating heroines I’ve EVER read. She had so much potential to be a bad ass and she fell flat at every turn. Her character dragged the story down and the hero (who was amazing) picked up as much dead weight as he could.

Did anyone besides the author preview this? If I was a real friend of this author I would tell her to get a new hobby. Writing isn't for her.
First of all, the hero refers to himself as an "alpha bully" and is proud of it. You do you, dude. I'm sure your dick is HUGE.
You had your usual virgin heroine that doesnt stand up for herself and gets hard nipples whenever the hero is around. Hero has lots of experience and shoves his ex to her knees so she can lick his jeans in front of the school to make the h jealous AND the h gets aroused watching it.
Thank you, next. Will never pick up a book by this author again....more

I really wanted to give this 4 stars because the heroine was Bad Ass with a capital B!
But... the hero was really a drag to read. I cant give a book more than 3 stars if the hero: - constantly compares the h to his ex -ignores her for most of the book - is cruel to her when hes actually with her, and threatens to abandon her in a year if she doesnt give him a baby -still thinks the h is actively spying and betraying him at the 98% mark while she is literally saving his ass and his kingdom.

I cannot continue with this book. Its very repetitive and boring. One of my biggest pet peeves in books is when the author intentionally drags out the suspense of the H and h finally getting together. So you have one quick sex scene at the beginning and then just a bunch of 'heated looks from the hero that made the heroine gasp for breathe' in every chapter. And this goes on for like... 10 chapters.
Also, I couldn't connect with the heroine because I found her to be a huge square. And OF COURSE shes been celibate for years and her last boyfriend turned out to be gay.

This isnt for me. It reads like a Disney channel special. All of the characters are blissfully ignorant of.... everything. The heroine is especially infuriating.
Small excerpt:
Heroine: “Zac, you and I move in different circles. You’re the Beta’s son, not to mention, your dad’s like a bajillionaire and your mom’s Cady Vrost, the most classy woman on the planet. You went to Harvard, then Oxford, and now you help run this huge company, not to mention, you’ll probably soon be second-in-command of the largest Lycan clan in the world. Hero: “So? Heroine: “So? I’m just a fuckup nobody. I dropped out of college after one semester, and I’ve been drifting from job to job, year after year, pretending I’m an adult.
If dialogue like that doesnt make you want to roll your eyes.....
Yeah I like my female characters to be less... pathetic and boring. And of course you get all the usual tropes such as: -Hero with alot of sexual experience -Heroine that is in a perpetual dry spell for her entire life -Rich hero- poor heroine -Catty, cartoon OW that, of course, want the hero's attention and they make fun of the heroine.

This was no where near as good as the first book in this series. Everythign was SO overdone and dramatized to the point of exhaustion. For the life of me I could not keep up with the MC's emotions. Again, whats with all the crying?!?! Grown men do not break down in tears at the slightest provocation no matter what their sexuality is. HAs this author even met a real life human man before?!?!?
A better example: The characters are so fucking dense and stupid. The first time the MC's kiss, the h thinks the H kissed him out of some weird form of revenge and not because he was gay.... like.... how on earth does that make even a little bit of sense?!!? What straight men have you met where they go around kissing gay guys as a form of revenge?!
There just wasnt a whole lot of common sense in this book. ...more

Another book ive been waiting for for over 6 months for it to just be.... ok. The plot, characters, and romance elements were all there but the whole thing was bogged down with dragged out fight scenes, political talk, and introductions of secondary characters.
Not enough time or interactions of just the hero and heroine. So when they finally say I love you at the last few pages of the book, I was like "but they barely spent any time together!?!?!" Because the author just skips over it!!!!! So many fade to black sex scenes!!! If you're gonna cut out the best part of the romance, I would hop that you would make that time up in other ways. But nooooooo you get a fight/kidnapped scene that lasts way too long and tedious to read.
Tedious is how I would describe this book. The lack of romance and the heroines inability to be serious for 2 seconds. And the fact that it took her to until the 98% mark of the book to get over herself and express her feelings for the hero. Hero was fantastic though, so I gave a couple of stars for just him.
Hoping the next book is better

This was good until it wasn’t. Ive shared many opinions on K Webster, most of them not great, but one thing I can say about her books is that they are s t e a m y. She really knows how to write a hot and heavy book, and this had that in spades.
What she lacks is the ability to write a decent plot. All that steam and romance angst was soooooo good to then be plowed over by a bunch of non sense rich people tropes. You had a great romance that just starts to get bogged down with:
- pretending to be in an arranged marriage - OW drama - secret baby - some form of abuse by literally every grown up in the story - blackmail, affairs, money, etc etc etc blah blah blah blah blah BLAH
Like... calm down. Seriously. All of this extra crap made the MCs romance cheesy as hell. It dumber down what could have been a beautiful drama and turned it into a cheap soap opera.
So that’s why it’s 3 stars.

This just really isn’t for me. At first I was excited thinking this would be like Laura Thalassas Rhapsodic, but the more I read the more I was coming to realize that I kept nit picking details apart. That never makes for a good reading experience.
Things I didn’t like and that made me stop reading:
-heroine is a FUCKING VIRGIN BECAUSE OF COURSE -hero is a Fae King so most likely a man whore and in a vision, the h sees he loved someone in his past. And the heroine gets.....no one. Except an imaginary boy friend. (Yep you read that right. Imaginary boyfriend) -hero is way to passive and allows for the heroine to be brutally whipped in front of his kingdom -heroine is way to passive and completely forgets about said event a few chapters later -the lack of any dialogue between H and h that’s longer than 1 or 2 pages. There were lots of “I can’t tell you things you need to know right now. Maybe later.
Maybe it gets better down the line, but really, who’s to say?

The entire conflict the couple faced was just a tad too ridiculous. The hero purposely acts as a shitty boyfriend because he thinks thats what the h wants? Nobody is that dense.
And that ending? What a load of crap. Instead of resolving the couples issues, the author just adds more 'action' by having the hero fake his own death because he cares for the heroine too much.

One of the most pathetic heroines ive ever read. She had me grinding my teeth together. Everything was so melodramatic and emotional with her. AND she refused to tell anyone about her problems because she thinks shes an adult who can handle it on her own. BUT GUESS WHAT?!?! IT COMES BACK TO BITE HER IN THE ASS SO THE HERO CAN BE THERE TO SAVE HER IDIOT SELF. FUCKING SHOCKER AM I RIGHT?!?!?! WOAH WOW I DIDNT SEE THAT COMING?!?! #Original I was starting to wish she would just disappear so the hero could be happy with one of the secondary characters, Kylie, a kind nurse who actually acts like a normal human being.
I'd write a better review but this book just honestly exhausted the hell out of me. The writing was terrible. Not grammatically terrible, but too-wordy terrible. Everything is so lofty and over explained in so much stupid detail. Like, the heroine goes on these long monologues about how alive and versatile Las Vegas is and its written to sound like a Shakespearean play. Or how if the hero did even a tiny non verbal action the heroine would wax on about how men only wanted her body.
Please enjoy these reaction gifs that adequately describe my mood while reading this book.

Man, I really thought I had a winner here. It started off as a solid 4 star read, but the author kept adding more meaningless conversation and plot devices that just made me frustrated. The real kicker is that ive been looking for a book with this kind of plot.
Boy used to be a bully to girl in childhood years, but secretly loves her. Boy and girl meet years later but girl doesnt recognize boy. Boy is still in love with girl and chemistry ensures. Eventually girl finds out about Boy and fall in love after a quick drama llama break. HEA.
What I got was a poorly written story with so much extra plot that it took away from the main story. In fact, this book was almost entirely focused on the secondary characters that were, quite frankly, annoying as fuck. Then to top it off, the ending was just terrible. Of course the heroine gets a surprise stalker/rapist so the hero can swoop in and save her.
PSA: You can end a book with a different ending than putting the heroines life in danger so the hero redeems himself. Its ok to be original! I promise!
Safety: Very safe! which is a shame because if this book was even just a little bit better I would have recommended it!
