We get to see the twists and turns of his emotional state before he met Ruby. We get to see who Sean really is inside which I loved reading about.
My only real issues was that we didn't find out enough about his time with Ruby. I really wish we'd had a little glimpse into his thought processes during certain situations Ruby's encountered but either way I liked the book a lot....more
I have to admit because of the long wait between books there were things I didn't remember but I took them at face value when "Ruby" reminds us.

Just another exciting installment! The thing with this series is that I've never been able to stop reading it once I start.
Ruby is a mess all the time. Cooper is super protective. Sean is dangerous and yet mesmerizing. And the more characters that latch onto Ruby and Scarlet the more story we seem to have.
I loved the turmoil in this book and how it really ripped down some of Ruby's relationships, including with her wolf, only to reform them with stronger ties.
I'm hoping we get to learn more about the mystery of the storage unit and that Alan is more involved in the next book.
All in all a great series, if you like supernatural fantasy. I for one do and this is one of my go to series's. I will be sad when it ends as there are only a 1 or 2 books left....more

And now that it is completed you will be able to enjoy the binge read rather than wait for each one. Major plus. I'm pretty sure I've rated them all 5 stars except this one.
Here is the thing. Part of me feels Natusch was so ready to end the series that this one lacked something essential to Ruby. Ruby repeated her self so many time and the conversations seemed repetitive in the extreme. There was a lot of stand around and explaining everything though I don't know that I actually feel everything was resolved. But Ruby got a happy ending and that is what I wanted.
Despite the story feeling a little shoved together, the great characters were still there as were the emotions, the friendships and all that comes with Ruby and her patchwork pack.
I might not have totally loved this installment but overall the series is excellent and for supernatural fans this is a must read....more

I would say the only complaint I have is that I still don't know what is up with Scarlet, but I'm okay with that because what I know about Ruby, Cooper, Sean and Petya more than makes up for it.
I can barely wait for the next book and hope we get it soon.
After reading Scarred and being left so upset but the outcome I really hoped for some kind of emotional closure and while we do seem to get that to a certain extent; it isn't nearly as much as we'd like. Yet, the book is a wonderful adventure just like the books before it with every character playing their part to perfection....more
So good. Constant movement of the story and a great flow of action and adventure not to mention one surprise after another and a twist at the end.

I really love this series and I really loved that Ruby finally realized her feelings and told the man she loved how she felt even if everything went mad in the end.
Such a great cast of supporting characters. Love the love connection for Petya. Really interested in the new characters.
I was surprised at the direction Natusch took with Ruby's dance partner Matt but I actually enjoyed it and I enjoyed that Scarlet is going to quite the handful in the next book. Can't wait for more!...more

Ruby has lots to deal with from a psychotic rouge werewolf to visions of murderer the PC suspects she committed. And if that weren't enough the men in her life are giving her more grief than one girl can process; not to mention Ronnie's lack of enthusiasm about Ruby's other personality.
We learn a bit more about Sean, who is my favorite for Ruby, though we also find out some interesting things about Cooper, Ronnie, and Petya.
Overall, Natusch did a wonderful job. The only moment that bothered me was the confrontation between Sophie and Scarlet. The revelations made there seemed to be pulled out of thin air a bit. Still a great story....more

Really kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. Natusch has us begging for more with the unrequited love story between Ruby and Sean. The twists and turns in there "relationship" are truly enthralling. If that weren't enough we learn new things about our characters.
As if Ruby doesn't already have enough on her plate with a recovering Cooper, she is then thrown into teenager watch when Ronnie has to leave town. Ruby's parenting skills are fantastic to watch as is her continual banter with Cooper who has a few surprises for us as well.
Again, if that weren't enough we learn there is more to Peyta (Ronnie's daughter) than we could ever imagine... and we it comes down to it there is more to everything than we expected.
Natusch is great and keeping you interested and moving the story along quickly but wonderfully. Highly recommend....more
I loved this book. At first I was a little confused because clearly there is a lot about Ruby the author just isn't cluing you in on, but as time goesI loved this book. At first I was a little confused because clearly there is a lot about Ruby the author just isn't cluing you in on, but as time goes by you start to realize there is a pattern. Ruby's blackouts and the actions of the men around her all clue you in on what is going on and what Ruby really is.
Natusch did a fantastic job keeping me hooked on the story. So much so that the moment I got my gift card from my best friend I purchased the sequel. I can't wait to get started reading it and look forward to the future volumes.
Let's talk about Ruby. For a girl who claims she rarely cries she does a lot of it in this book but it seems understandable considering the highly emotional circumstances she continually finds herself in. And while you get the impression that Ruby isn't at all stupid, sometime you know she's not thinking at all.
Sean is a very large part of Ruby's life as he's the man that rescued her when her parents died (no real spoiler there). She then decides they have to be friends only it seems clear to the reader that Sean isn't thinking friendship and Ruby is convinced he wants to kill her... and you kind of suspect it too.
Ruby's friend Ronnie is highly enjoyable and while she's not in the story much, I hope she'll be more prominent in the future volumes. I feel like there could be a secret there.
I think if you liked Keri Arthur's Riley Jensen Series or MaryJanice Davidson's Queen Betsy series you'll enjoy Amber Lynn Natusch's Caged Series....more
