I don't plan on actually make it a business, just trying to clear things out. This book will help with both. The one problem I had with the book is the poor editing. At points in the book, it is very confusing because the words just don't flow and mesh together and sometimes don't make any sense. Very poor editing, but otherwise some great information. ...more

I was very hesitant to read this book at first, but then my daughter read it told me she really liked it. love how the ending is left for you to decide for yourself what occurs. both my daughter and I have different views for Jonas. That makes the book even better to be able to discuss the ending with my daughter....more

He has the most colorful, strange, realistic characters you will ever come across in a book and in Lucky You, he knocks it out of the park with his characters. Chub and Bode are too originals. JoLayne and Tom are a fun duo to follow throughout the book and you certainly can't forget about Shiner. But it doesn't stop there. His characters are unique all the way down to the smallest cameo in this book. Lucky you was a lot of fun to read. I enjoyed the chase through Florida down to the Keys for JoLayne to reclaim her Lottery ticket. What happens during is the real treat. Hiaasen comes up with these crazy scenarios that totally seem plausible, but then make you think again that there is no way that could happen. Lucky You would make an excellent movie and it would be hard to mess it up. As always, looking forward to my next Hiaasen book....more

Really like the characters from this series. Freeman does a good job with his characters and showing strong relationships among them. Chelsea Mancini is introduced as the target for this book. Alton and Mallory are once again working together to solve another crime with their other friends David and Fahima. The story leads down many paths with many suspects. Nice little surprise ending to the book that I enjoyed working out myself before I read the ending. Definitely worth the read and I look forward to reading the next, T Wave....more

Enoch St. John certainly gave me a little twist I wasn't expecting there at the end. The story begins with a group of juvenile delinquents heading into the woods on a retreat to try and change their lives when things start to go horribly wrong right from the beginning. A mutated wild hog is on the lose, but is that the only monster in the woods? St. John does a good job building the characters. The only problem I really had with this was how abruptly the ending came. Felt like there should have been more, but it was still a very good ending. Be careful though or you will read over it without even noticing what has actually been happening....more

Right from the beginning Pete Kahle pulls you in. The book starts off strong and doesn't seem to slow down. Kahle does a good job transitioning time periods throughout the book and giving you the back story you need...and crave. He also does a great job building the characters. It's a little long, but worth it to read to the end. The Riders are a complex parasitic alien species that attach themselves to humans and seem to have a pivotal part in what has happened and is happening in our world. Gripping story along with the gore and scare factor you want from a sci-fi/horror novel. Don't pass this one up. Could there be another on the way? I sure hope so....more

When I first picked this up, I thought it was going to be just another Middle-East war story. I quickly found out that it was not. It starts out and is built in the Middle-East, but the real story unfolds outside of the war. Nefarious starts off with a bang. This is a story that seems like it could easily get bogged down by many technical details due to it's subject matter, cryptography, but Freeman does a great job keeping it balanced and not trying to give you a cryptography lesson. He keeps you involved in the story the entire time. Lots of action, lots of detective work. I will definitely be recommending this one and keeping an eye on future writings form Steven F Freeman....more
