I am a huge fan of the American Standard, and maybe that helped me in giving this the five stars I think this fascinating treatment so richly deserves....more

Lots of exercises that gently break you in to this wonderful art form, along with mention of many, many clowns of whom you may or may not be aware--both classical clowns, like Grimaldi, and media clowns, like Lucille Ball, Charlie Chaplin and Steve Martin. This isn't the only pathway into clown, but it is one of the clearest that keeps the beginning clown in mind. If you're interested in finding your clown, this is the best book out there for you....more
