The kind of love I crave isn’t cruel or possessive. Do not expect me to act either way. I will never beg or use subversive tactics to win your heart. I will earn it because you choose to give it to me of your own free will, or I won’t have it at all. I will never manipulate you. No one should. And if they do? They aren’t worth your time.
I would love it even more if we got more of their relationship than what was features in this novella. Or if it featured a collection of Thomas's perspective throughout the series so far. Heck, I would love it if we get a smutty novella of these two. I probably wouldn't mind if this whole series is a smutty novel involving these two because I'm here for this series for Audrey and Thomas's relationship.

The title really sums up the book... more days at the Morisaki Bookshop which who wouldn't love spending more time in Jimbocho, Japan's b*2.75/5 stars
The title really sums up the book... more days at the Morisaki Bookshop which who wouldn't love spending more time in Jimbocho, Japan's book town. Yet with such a wonderful setting, the book fell flat for me. I was really hopeful that the story might've gotten better and the characters would've grown more. Sadly, that wasn't the case.
The writing felt dry and stilted in some parts (I don't know if that's because of the translation) and the characters felt even stiffer than before. Takako still read quite expressionless, lacking that depth of expression and emotion that would've been more engaging to read. I usually love how Japanese literature can take everyday life and make it more meaningful or more vibrant which I was really hoping for in this story. But it just missed that mark.
Now I did tear up near the end because those scenes do make me tear up (it's just a given at this point) but the story could've had more engagement if there was more emotion in the writing. I love beautiful prose and low plots if there's great emotion being portrayed in the scene or the characters and this book just missed the mark for me....more
