At last, we learn more about Tomlin, who isn’t exactly as he appears to be. I get a real kick out of seeing him struggle with his feelings for Etta. It’s a good thing she’s a scientist: she’s able to prove he’s not a danger to her. Plus, the proving is an adventure in itself. I love her! She’s not one to put up with any nonsense. I’m intrigued by the gemstones Etta is studying and their possible uses, and by a couple of new characters introduced. Will we be seeing more of them? Do read! It’s a delightful love story; I know you’ll love their journey and its completion....more

Shadow, however, is the only one of his brotherhood whose existence is in peril. Mandy is quite an interesting character. She has skills unusual for many humans that, I believe, make her a more compatible with our alien castaways. I love that she’s older, not in freshly out of her teens. It is thrilling to see these two take risks, living in the moment. The rewards are awesome! I heartily recommend Shadow, and the rest of the series to those who love science fiction romance!

I’m thrilled to see the competent warrior woman Siona has become in the interim. There are some wrinkles to iron out in their relationship, but they have some wise advisers to help them out. I think Zerien is brilliant as he works to identify the rebels and their leader. The Sarenian rebels are a serious threat - and who is Dread? I love seeing Zerien and Siona prove their strength against threats, and the strength of their love for each other. Splendid storytelling that leaves me hungering for more in this world!
