No one steps out of character, some of which are stereotypes. All characters have a somewhat flat affect - never really reacting emotionally to much of anything. Interesting topics are raised and not explored.
Last note, an absurd coincidence doesn't become more realistic if you bring up the coincidence - "who would have thought these two would meet in a huge city"? answer- no one and it's a big enough flaw, I'm kinda surprised at the hype around this book...more

I was a bit off put by her discussions of her husband and other men. It was pretty much just dancing around the subject, even while she's pretty adamant about some men she didn't have affairs with. She and her husband have been married forever and it's not our business. I'd much rather hear that, than her half dozen ambiguous answers. (Or spill the tea if you want.) Or at least edit those ramblings so they are shorter....more

Kellerman still makes the characters and plots interesting after 35 books. He is one of the better series mystery/thriller authors .
