While HIS BOSS FOR CHRISI simply devoured this one because it was pretty short and because this always happens whenever I read one of Hazard's books.
While HIS BOSS FOR CHRISTMAS was pretty straightforward and simple (especially considering because it's a novella), I do wish we had gotten both perspectives in this story. I think it would have helped round out the story more--especially because I want to see what the other character is thinking and feeling about the MC.
Because this is so short, I don't mind how quickly the turnaround was on the romance and the angst and lust was for this couple. I DO also wish we had a more concrete conclusion--I wasn't the biggest fan of where it stopped because it left so much up in the air, like we were going to get a sequel and I think this is not going to happen.
Still enjoyed this for what it was though--a bite-sized sample of Hazard's addicting MM romance writing.

It was like the author wrote this with hopes that there would be a second volume. It felt like a bit of a hot mess.
Also, there are a lot of unresolved issues that were brought up, but since this is a single volume story, it just left me feeling confused and unsatisfied.
AND what was that? Using the second half of the volume for a backstory when it could have been used to write a more in-depth story? I'm sorry, but why do I need a backstory for two characters that weren't fully fleshed out in a SINGLE VOLUME manga to begin with? That backstory just brought up more questions. And if this was indeed a backstory to the main story, then why did they make it seem like the first kiss in the main story was such a big thing when they'd already shared one?
Confusion galore and disappointing. The artwork was pretty and the format of the manga was nice, but the story itself with that title was meh.

I'm so glad I finally gave in because wow, this was FUN and SPICY. The tension between these two? Yes, thanks. I really want to read book two because of the characters. I also love a good Single Dad romance.
Anyway, this was great and although I know it could be a slower romance, I'm here for the slow burn (the spice makes up for it!).

This was strangely addicting. I liked the simplicity of it--sometimes I want fantasy that's just straightforward and not so focused too much on setting (which I know is a lot of people's favourite thing about fantasy--the setting).
WOOING THE WITCH QUEEN also reminded me of other romantasies I've enjoyed, but was obviously a lot simpler written. This made it a very quick read.
I also loved how badass the queen was and how her love interest encouraged her to be true to herself rather than fitting into the expectations of what a royal should be.
I was also happily surprised by the mention of a former sapphic relationship. I do wish it wasn't put in a negative light, but I liked the inclusion.
A lot of fantasy readers wont enjoy the simplicity, but i loved how light it was. I am definitely hoping to read book two in the future!

There were no frills and no drama--which is fitting considering that these are older characters. I sometimes love reading romances between older characters because they are more mature in their approach to love, even if they are still nervous and unsure.
One of the things that bugged me about the other two books was the miscommunication and this one didn't have that, which again, can be a result of these two women being older.
This was simply a story about two characters who have been pining over each other for years and finally bit the bullet and faced their fear of admitting their love for each other.
This was cozy, sweet, and a great palate cleanser of a novella.

It was spicy, but in such a surprising way. I loved the adventure aspect and I found certain parts hilarious.
The MC was a badass and I love that she had her own character badass growth instead of fully depending on her demon boyfriend. Sometimes I felt like the story was a little long, but I still enjoyed the book for what it was. I loved the MC's bestie (even if she could have been more supportive).
I also got strong "that time i got drunk and saved a demon" vibes and this made me love it even more. If this becomes a trend in romantasy, then I'm super here for it.

I liked THE RELATIONSHIP MECHANIC a lot more than the first book. While book one was a bit slower and sometimes had me falling asleep mid-read, this story felt more compelling.
And while I love me some spice, I found that there was a bit too much sex BUT I did like the connection between the two characters. I felt their tension more than in book one.
This was a bit insta-lust for me, hence the three star rating. THE RELATIONSHIP MECHANIC was fun for what it was, even though the sister was hella annoying and presumptive.
I wish we learned more about the small town. The more surface level aspect of these books are what keep me from giving them a higher rating, BUT I have already preordered book three.
Let me start by saying that I think the rating for this book is ridiculous. I get the criticisms, but I think some are incredibly harsh.
Charlie is liLet me start by saying that I think the rating for this book is ridiculous. I get the criticisms, but I think some are incredibly harsh.
Charlie is literally going through an existential crisis as an adopted daughter encountering her biological brother. I am not adopted, so I can't even begin to imagine what she's going through emotionally and mentally. I think this also played heavily, HEAVILY into her idea of separating her identity between Charlie and Charlotte. Charlotte is the daughter who is near perfect and lives to make sure her parents don't regret adopting her, while Charlie is the girl she would have been if she didn't have this internalized fear that she needs to be perfect. Charlotte lives by the laws of societal opinions, but Charlie makes her own way regardless of others' opinions. This is a hell of a hard cycle to break, especially when it's so ingrained into your identity.
Why is that so hard to see?
Was this Kennedy's best book in the series? No. But in my opinion, it was the most complex one emotionally.
As for the romantic relationship, I don't really normally read a lot of why-choose (I do want to try more just to break myself out of my romance bubble), but I felt like this was a good book for me to try this trope. I did feel that sometimes Charlie DID have moments of greater connection with one guy over the other, but then by the end, I saw that she did have a connection of equal parts with both guys. I just think because one loved so much more readily than the other, we were given more moments with the reluctant guy because he was the one that needed the most reassurance. And I stand by this because of the comment "you hurt me" at the end of the book.
I do think that there was a bit of leading in this because of comments made in the beginning of the book and the vibes given in the last book when it comes to the two MMCs, but I also think that Kennedy made a point of showing us that nothing is completely off-limits. Even if things don't get physical between the two men, there is obviously an emotional connection.
Also, the brother situation was so complicated and I'm glad Kennedy didn't take it where some other authors would. He has an abundance of trauma and it was interesting seeing his relationship with Charlie.
One of my big complaints, however, is how long this book is. The pacing felt a bit off and made this feel like it was a lot longer than it actually was.
Anyway, I really enjoyed this and I thought it was a great addition to the series. I really do hope there are more books because there were so many potential characters in need of new partners. I do like the little foreshadowing that might happen for one of the characters and her current relationship.

The spice was done well, even if it was SOMETIMES a bit repetitive. I liked reading about a sport I don't read as often and that this story was a nice deviation from Hazelwood's first few books that fell perfectly into a formula.
The ending was a mix of expected and frustrating. I knew it was coming, but I still wanted to punch air.

I loved this couple so much and I really enjoyed watching them grow as characters. I would have loved ten more volumes of them, but hopefully the next series Mizuki writes is just as wholesome or eye-catching.
Also, shout out to the author for giving us a glimpse of the future. I loved seeing the relationship between the two MCs in the future and how the son reacts to their growing love when he's a teenager. I really appreciated the epilogue-like chapter and how much closure it gave me.
And the choices made in this volume? Brilliant. I loved that the one MC chose what worked best for him and decided to be inspired enough to take that risk.
Seriously, this series is so wholesome and just beautiful. The artwork, the pacing, the slice of life quality that is sometimes needed to escape this fire-filled world was fantastic.
I loved this conclusion and I'm so sad it's ending. this one was spicier than the other two, but it had the added layer MY HEART.
I love them so much.

I want more stories about them. This was also so romantic.

I liked how the family communicated once everything was revealed about the younger MC. And I liked that it had spice but wasn't overly spicy.
I also really enjoyed the ending and how it all came together, even though I think the action could have been a bit longer--it all felt a little too quick. I know theres a sequel, but I think this one was enough for me.

I zoned out at times and had to go back and re-read. This was definitely a bit of a meh book after that first one. Short review because I don't know what else to say, aha.

I knew I was going to enjoy the hell out of this book a chapter into it. I kind of knew what THE X INGREDIENT was about (the tropes are what first drew my eye) and I was excited to see how Sinclair presented the story. I wasn't disappointed. Between great audio narration, fantastic pacing, and characters that jumped off the pages, THE X INGREDIENT was an incredibly entertaining and spicy read.
I was addicting to these two characters and I always wanted to know what would happen next. And one of the things that continued to keep me hooked until the end was how well these two communicated with each other and set boundaries. I loved seeing their love story and the surprising dominating personality of one of the main characters.
Also, this one was SPICY. The consent added to that spicy factor and made me have to pause the story more than a few times to fan myself. One of the characters is so far into the closet that she refuses the idea of being anything but straight, so we do have that character growth. It's interesting to see that it doesn't matter how old you are, it's never too late to accept yourself for who you are.
This was a fantastic office romance and I'm so glad I picked it up!

This is my first Adriana Herrera romance and I have to say, I'm surprised. The romance was sweet, the tension between the MC and his love interest was interesting and had me hoping and waiting for them to eventually give in to the attraction. The spice was surprisingly intense and it had me blushing. I've read spicier books, but this one took me by surprise because the tone of the book did not make me think it would be like that at all.
Both characters had their own issues to overcome in order to end up together. I liked that we explored a lot of the hardships in the love interest's life stopping him from being open about his sexuality, and the difficulties of putting yourself first. I found the conclusion to this a bit too easy, especially with that build up--but I know we sometimes have to suspend our disbelief.
The MC also has some bigger issues and while we DID get to learn about them a bit and had to navigate those insecurities with the MC, I found that it led to an unnecessary moment of miscommunication. The MC and the love interest had a conclusion that kind of put everything into a neat box and closed it all off with a beautiful bow. While this can be a sweet thing, I do think I had to suspend my disbelief a bit. But yay for happy endings!
I do wish we got to see more of the beautiful country the MC was in. We were told about the sights and what it had to offer, but when the MC goes off on his little vacation to explore the rest of the country it's skipped over. I would have LOVED to explore with him. I remember thinking, "wait, that's it? He went and didn't take us?"
Anyway, if you want a cute romance set in another country, then you might like this one. If you like some good spice that comes after a while of flirting and tension, then add this to your TBR! I'll definitely be reading more from Herrera--despite its faults, FINDING JOY was, to be punny, a joy to read.

In 2024, I read a Sarah Adams book that entertained me so much that I immediately wanted to read her other books. THE MATCH was really cute and fun, sprinkled with some family trauma, child abandonment, and an adorable dog that helped the FMC live with her epilepsy. Overall, this was an adorable book that started with not the best first impression and ended with a very cute conclusion.
I don't live with epilepsy, so I am completely ignorant of anything surrounding the disability, but I do hope Adams portrays it well! Please feel free to correct me if she didn't do the topic justice.
I loved the FMC's passion and enthusiasm for her career with service dogs and how to make them available to a wider group of people in need. Her dedication jumps off the page and can be felt whenever she speaks on the subject. I like how she never wavers against her parents' disapproval--I love books that feature MCs that aren't afraid to not budge on their career when faced with familial pressure. Her confidence in her job wasn't used as a plot device or a plot twist where she "had to find herself". She just knew.
The MMC had A LOT of trauma to unpack, especially as a single dad of a young girl with a disability. One of the reasons why I love single parent stories (other than that my mom was one for the majority of my pre-teen and teen years), is that I like seeing how characters are with their kids and how much love they have to give--even if it CAN be a bit misguided at times. The MMC grows a lot as a character and him learning not to project his fears and insecurities on his daughter was a sight to see.
I do wish there was a bit more communication between him and the FMC but they got there eventually lol. This extends to the annoying third act break-up. It was just very sudden, and although it wasn't unexpected, I was hoping they would handle the situation better. And then miscommunication came into play and I just...so damn close. Oh well. At least I got a cute ending.

I also kind of wanted more about the two MCs' life together.
Some parts were definitely funny and it reminded me of when I first started this series. I remember laughing so much and immediately knowing that I had to read the rest of the series. Although this volume wasn't a favourite, I DID love feeling that again.
I know that this series is coming to a close soon and I'm really sad to see it go. But I do love seeing these characters we've grown attached to find their happiness.

I can't believe I finally finished this series! Nora Roberts continues to be a comfort read for me, even if this book could have been a wee bit better.
I can't say much because it the final book in a trilogy, but I do wish there was an epilogue that actually shared with us everything that happened after. There was so much allusion to "after", that I felt like I was cheated out of reading about it. And this is the LAST book, so I know I will never know how certain weddings went, or how certain people reacted to certain things.
The rest of the book was good and I enjoyed seeing everything lead up to the main moment that was admittedly a little too fast--but HEY. Nora Roberts is a comfort read! So, I'm not too judgy on her books lol.
Anyway, read this series if you want a fun fantasy trilogy with some romance, a grumpy love interest, an incredible best friend, and some adventure that isn't life changing but is super entertaining.

Honestly, this was cute and was a relatively quick read. Both characters had some great character growth and I liked their connection. The MMC is like that one guy we all wish would actually listen to us and go above and beyond to show us we are cared for, and the FMC is a character who knows what she wants and even though she has moments where the harsh reality of dating gets to her, she's a fantastic mother and woman who knows exactly what she wants and what she deserves.
I also loved listening to this audiobook because of the radio segments! I wonder how the second book will go, especially because I think I know who it will follow!
