They're just as adventurous, daring, and skilled with swords as the original musketeers, but with their own unique stories and challenges. It's like a modern twist on the classic tale, bringing a fresh perspective and excitement to the story. As someone who loved "The Three Musketeers" when I was younger, seeing these girls step into the spotlight and embark on their own thrilling adventures was really captivating and enjoyable....more

I enjoyed it almost through most of the book but last quarter was just weak and I had to make myself finish the book.
Like other books of his, Robert Longdon is pulled through a crime scene along with a beautiful smart lady. All is good until the point is revealed and then it's so lame , like Brown just had no idea how to finish the book and just threw the first idea he came across.
I gave it three starts because it was very good until that point.

Death Masks," the fourth book in Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series, took me on another good journey through Harry Dresden's world of magic and mayhem. Each time I dive into a new Dresden adventure, I can't help but notice how the story and characters mature with every turn of the page.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the series, but there's one thing that consistently grinds my gears: Harry's old-school chivalry when it comes to women. I mean, come on, it's like stepping into a time warp back to the '50s! I find myself rolling my eyes at times, wishing Harry would catch up with the times and treat women as equals.
Speaking of characters, I can't help but feel like Tom and Murphy are being short-changed. They've got such rich backstories and growth potential, yet Butcher barely scratches the surface with them. I'm left craving more insight into their lives and motivations.
But despite these frustrations, "Death Masks" still managed to keep me glued to the pages with its heart-pounding action scenes. In the end, "Death Masks" may not be perfect, but it's a damn good read nonetheless. ...more

She's not just about romance; you also get a great mix of historical story, mystery, and action. Her books are like a blend of different genres, and I find them super enjoyable to read. The latest book in "The Will Darling Adventures" series is no different. This time, it's all about putting an end to Zodiac once and for all. The murder mystery in this chapter is well done, and it's so much fun to see how it all gets resolved.
On top of that, we see Kim and Will's relationship developing even more in this installment. Their interactions are well-written, and I loved seeing how they work together. Overall, "Subtle Blood" is a fantastic read that keeps you hooked from start to finish....more
This story is about people who take the same train to work everyday, helping each other out even though they don't know each other.Actual Rating : 4.5
This story is about people who take the same train to work everyday, helping each other out even though they don't know each other. At first it takes some time to get to know the characters, but then you meet people you start to like, especially this fun lady named Iona. I really enjoyed reading this book. I need an Iona in my life!
The book deals with some sad topics like mental health problems. But overall, it makes you feel better after reading it. It shows how strangers can be nice to each other and become friends. Stories that leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, like A Man Called Ove, would also like this feel-good book about the good people can do for each other without even trying.

This book started promisingly but ended up being just okay. The story began with a good mystery, but it got bogged down by too many details as it went on. By the end, it was hard to follow what was happening.
Spoiler alert: The book throws in multiple mysteries, like triple murders, an anorexic man, assassins, and more. It's a lot to handle, and it doesn't all come together in the end.
Overall, "Conviction" is an average read. It has its moments, but the plot gets lost in the clutter of too many subplots....more
Although I had read about the Vietnam War in many resources, this book opened a whole new window into the horrors and injustices of this war for me. IAlthough I had read about the Vietnam War in many resources, this book opened a whole new window into the horrors and injustices of this war for me. It detailed the innocent people killed in Vietnam and the men and women who risked and lost their lives in an unjust war. It described how the US used chemicals that harmed not only Vietnamese people but US soldiers as well. The women nurses in particular were ignored even after the war ended. I am adding some facts I got from my research on this topic.
Approximately 11,000 women served as nurses in Vietnam, playing a vital role in providing medical care to injured soldiers. However, despite facing dangerous conditions with limited resources, the contributions of these women nurses were often ignored or downplayed when the war ended. Nurses did not receive the same recognition or "welcome home" that male combat veterans received when returning from Vietnam. There was little public appreciation for the vital medical roles nurses played during the war. It wasn't until the late 1980s/early 1990s that Vietnam nurse veterans started receiving more recognition for their service, such as the Vietnam Women's Memorial in Washington D.C. which was dedicated in 1993. ...more

It's a cool story set in a messed-up versionI'm a huge fan of Jonathan Stroud's Lockwood and Co. series, so that's how I came across his latest work. It's a cool story set in a messed-up version of England where Scarlett McCain wakes up near a couple of dead guys. She's a confident troublemaker, I liked her character, and her life gets even crazier when she meets Albert Browne, a mysterious guy hiding out after a bus crash.
Together, Scarlett and Albert have to deal with all kinds of dangers in this messed-up England. Jonathan Stroud knows how to spin a good tale, and this one is no exception. As a fan of his previous books, it's packed with action, humor, and friendship....more
