With vivid imagery and philosophical depth, Ratul uses a well known but ancient tale to explore timeless themes like greed, courage, and good vs. evil. You can very well call it a modern epic. Descriptions are just right. Not too long. Not too short. The ending was perfect. Loved it. Hope he writes more like this. It's a new Lee Child. And I like him....more

While the plot starts with urgeThis time Tom Rollins races to save his brother Anthony from the Chicago mob, aided by his tech-savvy associate Cindy. While the plot starts with urgency and modern intrigue, weak character development, particularly Anthony’s unlikability, diminishes the emotional stakes. A subplot involving Anthony's girlfriend and her son feels unnecessary. And some action sequences drag. Making parts of the story tedious. The ending fails to deliver a satisfying payoff....more

Sei is a deadly Chinese assassin, has left the murder-for-hire business, until she discovers that the daughter she thought was dead is actually alive. The price for her safe return? One last job: breaking into an impenetrable Turkish prison to take out the legendary Black Wolf.
The mission unfolds a little too easily, with Sei gliding from one challenge to the next with minimal setbacks. While the story keeps moving, it lacks real tension or surprises, making it fairly predictable. That said, it’s a light, entertaining read with a decent setup for the next book....more

Clayton White, an ex-military operative turned secret service agent, teams up with archaeologist Veronica Hammond, whose new satellite-based app stirs up unexpected trouble. While the premise is intriguing, the story sticks to familiar thriller tropes, delivering solid action and a few twists without breaking new ground. It’s a quick, engaging read with no slow moments, though it does wrap up a bit fast and leaves some loose ends, likely setting up a series. If you're looking for a straightforward, entertaining thriller, this one does the job....more

The hero's friend is killed in a road rage but there's more to the story. While the book has its moments, it doesn't always keep you on the edge of your seat. TIf you enjoy action-packed thrillers like the Jack Reacher series, Breacher might catch your interest, though it’s a wilder and less realistic ride. Tom Keeler, much like Reacher, takes justice into his own hands, but the story often stretches believability. Keeler seems to get away with a lot, leaving bodies everywhere. This second book is more exciting than the first, which was slow and dull. The action is nonstop, and while the story isn’t very realistic, it’s a fun, fast-paced read for when you just want to turn your brain off. If you’re looking for pure, over-the-top revenge thrills, Breacher delivers....more

What starts as a small act of kindness escalates into a war between rival crime syndicates.
Lee Child delivers relentless action, sharp dialogue, and Reacher’s signature sense of justice. The plot is fast-paced, with plenty of twists and brutal confrontations. Though the villains lack depth, the nonstop excitement makes up for it....more

Soon, he realizes something is off, and the ride turns into a deadly game of deception and survival.
The story is full of clever twists. Reacher’s calm, analytical mind and quick actions are at the heart of the plot. Lee Child keeps the suspense high, blending action with a complex mystery....more

The story is filled with twists, secrets, and danger at every turn.
Lee Child captures the heat and isolation of Texas perfectly. Reacher’s smarts and strength shine as he uncovers the truth. The action is sharp. The suspense keeps you hooked.
While the theme of domestic abuse is important, it could have been explored more deeply. Still, the book delivers a gripping read. Perfect for fans of action-packed thrillers....more

Despite giving the series another chance, this installment failed to meet expectations. The narrative alternates between first and third person perspectives, which feels disjointed rather than innovative. One of the key characters, Lu, is introduced with some intrigue in the first half but is killed off midway, leaving his arc unresolved and ultimately meaningless. This lack of payoff undermines the narrative.
The story itself is bland, with little excitement or tension to keep readers engaged. The plot meanders without offering compelling twists or emotional stakes. While the book had room to build on its premise, it feels like a missed opportunity....more

Randall, an ex-Special Forces soldier, goes missing while searching for a lost city in Peru. His daughter, a skilled archaeologist, sets out to find him. Along the way, she discovers the city holds a powerful, ancient energy source. This secret attracts other groups eager to control it.
The book combines archaeology with sci-fi, hinting at alien origins, which I felt odd in an archaeological thriller novel. Randall’s character lacks the combat skills you'd expect from his background, and some storylines feel unfinished. Though some parts are slow, fans of classic treasure hunts will still find it engaging. If you enjoy thrilling archaeological adventures, The Lost Tribe is worth a read....more

I just skipped most of the parts and grasped the main plot. The story follows a special ops military officer, Jack Steel, who questions orders during a mission, leading to his boss getting hurt. His boss blames him (and he's right) and seeks revenge, sparking a conspiracy involving multiple people and unnecessary deaths.
There's a female spy sent to monitor Steel and there's another plot of Steel trying to find his missing daughter, both really didn't making much difference in the story. The excessive length and unnecessary details made it feel drawn out....more

This dark epic romantasy is narrated from the first-person perspectives of protagonists Izadora and Kazimir.
The story follows Izadora, who was abducted as a child and held captive for years. She is eventually rescued by Kazimir and his group of faes, and as she learns to harness her powers, she also finds herself falling deeply in love with Kazimir.
However, I must caution that Izadora's experiences with abuse and trauma may be triggering for some readers. Additionally, the frequent intimate scenes in almost every chapter made the reading experience feel repetitive and sometimes boring.
While the story itself is not overly complex, the ending does introduce some unexpected twists and turns. Despite this, I'm still undecided about continuing with the series....more
