Jack is solidly in the latter category. Jack's character was basically created for the sole purpose of helping with Elsie's character growth.

I admit that I tend to enjoy reading male leads with alpha tendencies but Dante's default goes towards violence and I am not a fan of that. Vivian is too much of a doormat in front of her parents and that is annoying at times. They both redeemed themselves towards the end. ...more

It's a cute story but it just fails to capture my attention. It appears that contemporary romance just don't appeal to me as much as it used to anymore. These days, I seem to favor romantic suspense than regular contemporary romance. So this romance, with not much going on, didn't interest me as much. But it is a good choice for anyone looking for a light read.
