I would have given this duet 5 stars if it was just about Landon and Asher, because everytime Breslin opened her mouth I was ready to scream. Fine, Asher technically cheated on her when they were in high school. She was heartbroken which was justified. But three years later you tell a man you've been seeing that you should both see other people when you travel out of the country... and then call it cheating when you come back and discover that he did in fact see someone else. Girl BFFR!
Honestly, Asher was the best out of the 3 of them. He was blackmailed and had years of his life ruined and still managed to roll with the punches. When their little 3some-situationship started, he buckled up and went with it despite Breslin still holding his past over him and refusing to hear him out.
It was Landon's idea for there little poly relationship but when push came to shove he couldn't handle Asher and Breslin being together as well. Going as far as allowing Breslin to continue to believe that Asher had cheated on her of his own free will so that he could keep them apart for as long as possible....more

The Good: One of my favorite types of character developments is the grumpy bully who went through some really traumatic shit and as they heal you realize they're actually the biggest softies you've ever met. Ezra and Josh are perfect for each other and I loved reading their story.
The Bad: This book was unnecessarily long. There were also several words/phrases that were CONSTANTLY repeated that kicked in my fight or flight response. "Bruh", "Thicc", "So hard/fast/good/deep/hot". Also, the sex scenes were great and spicy but honestly you cannot tell me that someone gobbled down a dick and not make me imagine a turkey. ...more

The cover of this book really threw me off because it looks just like the cover for God of Malice, but do not be fooled. This story is cute and features an absolute sweetheart of a MMC who just wants the best for everyone he knows and cares about. ...more
This book was honestly infuriating and the only reason it gets 3 Stars is because Parker deserves the world. I want to start by saying that I recognizThis book was honestly infuriating and the only reason it gets 3 Stars is because Parker deserves the world. I want to start by saying that I recognize the infinite amount of ways people respond and react to the trauma that domestic abuse causes them. HOWEVER, I was ready to throttle Kenra. I thought Kalani's pick me ass self was annoying in Book 1, but Kenra took the cake for most annoying FMC. She was in an abusive and controlling relationship, but she did not need to string Parker along for FOUR YEARS when she KNEW that she would go back to Kellan every time. Also this girl could not take a single ounce of criticsm for her actions. Anytime Parker indicated that he was unhappy with how she was treating him she immediately broke out in tears. In fact, I doubt there was a single chapter in the entire book that Kenra managed to withhold her tears. AND THEN SHE KNEW THAT KELLAN HAD HER TRAPPED FOR GOOD AND THE FIRST THING SHE DID WAS RUN TO PARKER AND HAVE SEX WITH HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME KNOWING WHAT SHE KNEW?! Girl. Straight to jail. Right away.
Then when Parker found out what Kellan had over Kenra and was WILLING TO RUIN HIS BEST FRIENDS LIFE ???? Oh fuck no baby boy. You're not going to ruin Lolli's life for a bitch that kept breaking your heart, try again. Unhinged.
Also, I don't know how Nate and Kenra's parents managed to be so intune with Nate and Kalani's relationship in book 1 but couldn't pick up on the fact that Kenra was in a loveless relationship with a sociopath.
Meagan Brandy really took the phrase "plain and simple" and ran it into the ground with these 2 books. I think it's obvious that her writing has improved signficantly between these books and the publication of her most recent ones. I've read Dirty Curve(2021) and Say You Swear(2022), and both of these were great. I don't know what happened here but I'm still going to read Meagan Brandy books. ...more
