I don't remember if I read them as a child, but I bought some of the reissues recently after seeing the short TV series at Christmas and adored them. One of the books has an introduction by Martin Jarvis who reads them on the audio version (I must remember to look out for those) and he said that often, as he was reading them, he was hooting with laughter. I can well believe it. The perfect pick-me-up for all ages....more
