I took this as a series of assignments, or gifts, or challenges, or letters I received sometimes joyfully and sometimes with some resistance as I worked my way deeper into my own reflection and writing through the process. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for writers of any kind - I can attest that in my experience this adapts to poetry, fiction and nonfiction writing as I used it to prompt all three while I worked through it, and spending time with Maggie Smith is a joy and delight. A library customer who comes in to browse new books once a week and never needs my help when I offer it upsold me on this book two weeks ago and when I saw him last week I told him I still planned to read it. And so I did. He told me that I would cry but that it would be worth it. He was correct.
Highly recommended historical mystery with wonderful writing and memorable characters and I鈥檓 going to be thinking about it for a very long time.
