I hear and see the stories of men that have spent half of their lives in Prison for crimes that they didn't commit- This book is the story of 2 teenagers that get caught up in that kind of horrendous situation. Ryan and Toni are young and in love, feeling like the world is against them at times, Ryan having to deal with a Drunken abusive father, and Toni having to deal with a controlling Mother and relentless girl bullies from school. Trouble just seems to follow these two. Toni's younger sister, Nicole is brutally murdered and Ryan and Toni are blamed. They were innocent and sent to prison - what a rollercoaster for these 2. This book evoked both anger and tears from me. Really Loved this one...more

There was a serious sense of regret,depression,sadness that went with this story- The author did a good job introducing each character in this family drama. I felt like I knew each one of them- It was just such a heavy theme that borders on depressing that made it so hard to read quickly for me- I would give this one 3.5 stars, but we cant give that 1/2 - which to me would put this one in a different category- The setting is in the Californian Desert in the 80's and basically tells the tale of an American family, and their decisions and the results of them- The Best Scene EVER is the party scene and it will stay with me for a long time......................more
