I came into this book thinking it would be a small town victory story and was filled with trepidation when I realized it wasn’t that kind of story. I’m not usually a fan of triangles in romance novels or slightly taboo undertones with step-sibling relationship involved but this one sucks you in the moment Harper tumbles off that railing. It’s dark, twisted, messy and deliciously complicated. A perfect rendering of how first love can twist the knife no matter how many years pass. I desperately want Harper to pick Christopher and I both hate and love that I’m not sure she will or if Christopher will deserve it in the end.
