I really enjoyed the first half of the book, the pacing was good and stories were being rounded out. The second half, seems too long and feels more repetitive. Overall I did enjoy the tension and most of the build up. Chloe lives in NYC but it really could have been any major city. Some of the vernacular didn’t sound American to me. If you enjoy the psychology behind who influencers behave and work, this will appeal to you. It also touches on the ethics of their work especially when they start doing family content. Also taking another look at para social behavior on both the side of the influencer and the influencee.

The train gets stuck in a snowstorm and things unravel from there. The whole story takes place in the first class cabin of the train so there are only a few characters. I wish some of them were more fleshed out, but we only get more depth on Agatha who really is hard to root for. She is so incredibly smug. The pacing in the first half of the book is quite good, but after the second half, Agatha’s memories and thoughts keep pulling you out of the flow of the story. I finished this book but I maybe should have DNFed it, didn’t feel worthwhile to read to the end. ...more

This book was incredibly tense and with so many books being actually banned and burned, the start of the book getting into that just felt very intense. I also really enjoyed the different kind of adventures Rintaro and the cat have in the first book, and this book features one place where books are disappearing to. Nanami is a young teen roped by the cat into the new adventure. While she is very sympathetic, the book just ok. Pity. ...more
