On one occasion they go to Spain and attend a bullfighting fiesta. So bullfighting is narrated to some extent which I found excessive. If you fancy bullfighting you may enjoy this book somewhat.
I tried really hard to connect with the characters but there were just not enough clues. It is like all the characters have huge walls around them, and no matter how hard you try you cannot get through and reach them. The dialogues don't get deep except a rare few. In fact the characters rather drink and pass out instead of opening up.
I liked his description of the scenery. I'd enjoy more if there were more reasonable conversations and less alcohol....more
