Cute, i liked the first book better though. Idk i just felt like there was a lot missing in this one and the non linear timeline for those few scenes was very messy and made the main characters relationship feel very shallow and without much chemistry.
I did like the main character, Amy, more. Or at least i liked that her past and backstory made more sense with her actions and how she she treated lucas.
Lucas action based was great but i just didn’t feel his character much, he felt very far away.

This book exceeded my expectations!
It was such a fun ice skating story. The characters were really interesting and the set up + how it all flowed worked perfectly!
I love it when books start giving out details and the backstory little by little without making it feel empty without it or making it not curious enough. The dual pov definitely added to it to.
it really kept me going wanting to know what happened 4 years ago.
Amy/Mia was such cool, interesting protagonist, usually the “new identity thing and past person doesn’t recognise me thing doesn’t work out well or feel like a clark kent type of thing but i think it worked out well here.
Yes, Austin definitely need glasses but it’s understandable the glasses and hair and delusion helped him not recognise her (this is not spoilers)
The angst was also pretty good my dudes, not cry worth or long enough to feel heart attack pain but good enough.
In terms of bad, there isn’t much to complain, honestly there’s barely anything, I do think this could just ended as one book instead of a duology but it was entertaining so I’ll read the next one aswell.

Great, fantastic even.

This man continuously hurt victoria in every way possible, from CHEATING (this isn’t spoilers they say it like 5 pages into the book) to gaslighting and manipulating her many times, to telling her random shit about how stuff is her fault when she hasn’t done a single bad thing to literally everything bad you could imagine. This man was the worst of the worst and what made me even madder what that then randomly at around 70% of the book they started saying stuff about love. LOVE? What love? They barely had any civil conversation in THE ENTIRE BOOK, he was with OTHER WOMEN without blinking twice til like 55% of the book while the fl was suffering. They literally had no chemistry whatsoever. Everyone was trash and kept on pushing them together, even her bsf when anyone with a braincell can see she deserves 100X better than this piece of sh1t. I can’t comprehend what the writer was thinking when they thought they could make us believe this horrible man that has never, not even once, in the book though about anyone but himself was randomly in love with her, i can count with one hand how many conversations that had any substance they had in the entire book.
God im sorry for anyone reading this but not even slimy ben from November 9th made this mad.
Im also fuming because i was waiting the entire book for him to grovel and become a better person, for her to develop a personality (because her entire life was just about this man, nothing else) and also stop being a doormat, for them to have chemistry and not just random sex scenes and to be done with it. Genuinely i dont know what the point of this book was other than making the female lead suffer, every chapter something worse happened to her thanks to preston. And then at the end we get a weak scene of him “spilling the tea and saying the truth and how most of his fans thought it was “brave of him and then a happily ever after. WHAT THE FUCK. just thinking about this book makes me even madder. The writing was good though, and the idea overall wasn’t bad the execution was awful. Everything else sucked....more
This was one of the purest and cutest books i have ever read. I loved their relationship, their friendship, the way they communicated, everything.

Elliot was such a sweetheart most of the book, i would’ve definitely been just as jealous as macy with that Emma bitch. The way he left his gf of 5 YEARS after seeing macy for the first time in eleven years for like 2 minutes.
Around 60% i felt like i was missing something about it and third act drama just gave it to me. I cried a little bit tbh.
Literally the only complain i have is that it felt a little short, i know in length the book is short whatsoever but idk i felt like the actual romance with them actually together was short.
I really recommend this, especially after reading a book that was romance so this one solves all your life heartaches
