Belsky is action packed psychological thriller with an unexpected twist and heart-pounding action. I loved the way the story was twisted, and I loved that I didn't have any clue of what the hell was happening.
Sonya is a dating app user who deals with lying men on this app. She hopes there is someone out there, but struggles to find him. When one of her dates tragically dies in front of her she is sucked into uncontrollable roller couster where more people dies and she could become a potential suspect.
Jacke is a reporter in The American Scene, and his boss assigns him to make a story about his experiences on a dating app. When Jacke signs up, he didn't expect anything more than a few sloppy dates, especially, he didn't expect that this would put him back on the map as a serious reporter.
I must say that I don't have any experience with swiping right or left, and it looks like I didn't miss anything in life, ha, ha. But on a serious level, I never thought of how actually dangerous it could be!

This was just something! The book starts strong and sparks interest in the first chapter. I was so invested in finding out what was happening and what would happen. The story is told in the present with chapters from the past that will slowly build the picture with devastating events 25 years ago. The end twist came out of nowhere and took me absolutely by surprise. Oh my, oh my!
25 years ago, Chloe disappeared, and her two friends were found dead. There is no witness, and no one knows what happened in that dark August night. Chloe's cousin, Frankie, never gave up looking for Chloe. She believes Chloe is somewhere out there. When Chloe unexpectedly appears in her own annual memorial event, Frankie hopes she will finally get answers about what happened 25 years ago, but unfortunately, Chloe suffers from amnesia and has more questions than answers. Someone out there has answers, but who? Someone is responsible for the horrific events, but who? Can Frankie get answers before it's too late?
This is a heavy read, but so good! Many dark events could trigger some readers, so I would advise checking them out. ...more
Julie Tudor Is Not a Psychopath by Jennifer Holdich is a complex and different type of dark humour thriller.
Julie Tudor is completely insane. That's Julie Tudor Is Not a Psychopath by Jennifer Holdich is a complex and different type of dark humour thriller.
Julie Tudor is completely insane. That's the fact! Julie Tudor becomes fixated on the men she works with. Julie Tudor is living in a delusion where her coworker is deeply in love with her. Julie Tudor lives in her own world where things revolve around her rules with one goal - to make Julie Tudor happy.
I must say that I really enjoyed the storyline in general, I liked the idea of this book, and I, in some twisted way, liked Julie Tudor.
An audiobook is narrated by Clare Corbett, who has done a fantastic job! You could feel how she connected with Julie, she became Julie! I believe she is a massive benefit to this book!
The only thing I didn't like was jumping in time. This story would be better told step by step. I didn't feel that jumping back and forth made this story more mysterious.

And this is it, it felt like a dark fairytale mixed with a modern-day thriller. The story itself was interesting, but I am not sure how I felt about the writing style. Even though I was interested to find out what was happening, most of the time I felt bored and couldn't wait for the end.
In 1990, the two sisters, Caroline and Joanna, were sent to stay with their Great Aunt Dora in Witchwood, a village in the Forest of Dean. Caroline and Joanna used to be as close as sisters can be until that summer. No one could guess that the events of that summer would haunt them forever. The present days comes with a shocking turn of Caroline's tragic death, and Joanna is dedicated to finding out what really happened. She decided to return to Witchwood to uncover the mysteries of that horrific summer and come to terms with what happened in her great aunt's abandoned and run-down cottage. But who can she trust in her search for the truth? And will she be able to withstand the danger that those attempting to conceal the truth are about to pose?
The explosive end made up for the slow release of suspense with a massive secret being revealed on the last page. This book had a lot of intriguing elements, including mysteries, darkness, and echoes of scary stories that haunt us long after we have outgrown our childhoods.

Seriously! I forgot when the last time I needed to do this was! Talking about a page-turner, I flew through this book in one go! The story is masterfully put together like a spider web. There were some times when I got confused about what was happening in what year, but you definitely have clarity in general. Talking about twists, this one was so clever! In general, this book is sad, seriously sad and brutal.

It begins with an intriguing chapter, making it clear that this will be a heavy book. The premise behind this story is heartbreaking! The audiobook is narrated by Christina Traister, and her voice is a perfect match! She adapts the characters so skillfully that it often feels as if there are multiple narrators. You can sense how deeply she connects with this book!

In SUGAR by Elizabeth Blackwood is book 2 in the Kat Walker series. The story nicely follows where it stopped at Caller No. 5, so no confusion there. In this book, we learn more about Kat's past so it's easy to sympathise with her. I love how the author made Kat really lovable. Yes, she is the killer (this is not a spoiler), but I just love her. I know what she does is wrong at the same time, what was done to her is wrong, so yes, you go girl!
The story is told from past and present perspectives giving us a chance to better understand Kat's actions and her as a character.
In general, this novel is emotional and sad! Just picturing what the characters were going through made me so mad from time to time! This story clearly shows the long-lasting trauma of past events.

Klune is such a cute contemporary fantasy about a current life setting: never-ending work, never time to live the life we have. This is a book that contemplates what it means to be alive, how not to waste time and how to come to terms with death. I was in this story straight away, loved the writing style and humour (so many times laughed out loud), but it was way too stretched. Around the middle, I started to lose my focus, but I still really wanted to know what would happen at the end. If this were more straight to the point and cut out all unnecessary pages with empty information, this would be an easy 5-star book for me.

Last One Standing by Maria Frankland is an absolute nut house. You want to have a suspenseful, edge-on-the-seat, nail-biting, blood-boiling thriller -Last One Standing by Maria Frankland is an absolute nut house. You want to have a suspenseful, edge-on-the-seat, nail-biting, blood-boiling thriller - this is the one! Oh my, my blood pressure was sky-high from the first chapter. The suspense never ended until the end when you happily could let out that breath you didn't know you were holding. Like, seriously, there were parts where you literally held your breath to get through. This is one of the most suspenseful thrillers I read in a long time! You do not read half a book to get to the active part - action never stops, emotions never stop, you just constantly are on the WTF is going to happen stage.
This is a sequel to Last Orders and no, you can't read this as a stand-alone because you need to know the story from the first book. This book picks up where the first book left and everything follows the same narrative, so you don't need to catch up with the new storyline.
