She has come into a mysterious inheritance of a gorgeous historic home, and her two best friends want her to fulfil their shared childhood dream of opening an inn, but her confidence is gone and she doesn’t believe they can pull it off.
Brooke is an interior designer who, six years later, is still recovering from being left at the altar. She has decided she can’t base her happiness on anyone else—she has to be independent and make her own happiness. Particularly by proving herself to her boss and getting the promotion she has deserved for years.
When Brooke meets Natalie, she starts feeling a whole bunch of feelings. Which are weird, because she is definitely totally straight! And also, because Natalie is the younger sister of the man who left her at the altar!
This was a fantastic book. Everything felt real, from the details of the historic home, to Natalie’s art, to the emotions the characters feel and the journey they go on together.
I really enjoyed reading this book and definitely recommend it....more

Alison is hunkered down on Gold Hill, a small Victorian gold rush-turned-hippy town, after her husband cheated on her and her life as a Melbourne society wife imploded. Also, she is hiding from some very dangerous people.
Hope moved to Gold Hill from Sydney several years ago and she now has a close-knit group of friends.
When Hope rescues Alison from a man threatening her, sparks fly and they are both left a little off balance. Can Hope just be friends with someone she is deeply attracted to? Can Alison push past her fears and open up?
I love both these characters so much. They are both so richly drawn they sprang off the page. I feel like I watched this as a movie, or even lived it, it felt so real. Alison trying to claw her life back together. Hope’s love of her friend group (and all animals).
The romance was so beautiful. I stayed up to 2am reading this because I couldn’t put it down, I so desperately needed the characters to get together.
Despite the fact I’ve never quite cut it as a vegan, I loved the vegan rep.
This is the second sapphic romance I’ve read that is about Melbourne gangland killings (the first being Requiem for Immortals, by Lee Winter).
I was given an ARC to read, and this is my honest review....more

But they have a lot of barriers to being together—the situation they are in, and stuff they each have to work through. Can they have a happily ever after?
Lily Seabrooke always creates wonderfully rounded characters and a really sweet, caring and loving dynamic between the MCs, and this is no different. I love healthy relationships and communication!.

I loved the relationship that built believably between the two loveable main characters. I also loved the relatable but unique coming out story of one of the characters.
