Κυνηγητό, δράση, μικρά κεφάλαια που στο κάθε ένα μια νέα περιπέτεια βρίσκει τους δραπέτες. Ορισμένα μας ταξιδεύουν στο παρελθόν και σε αυτό που τελικά τους “αποτρέλανε�, ώστε να τους γνωρίσουμε καλύτερα. Και όλο αυτό μέσα από μια πρωτοπρόσωπη αφήγηση από τον έναν εκ των 5.

Γενικά ήταν απολαυστικό όμως υπήρχαν ξαφνικά κεφάλαια μεγαλύτερα από 40 σελίδες (αντί για 10 όπως τα περισσότερα) και σε αυτά δεν συνέβαινε ΤΙΠΟΤΑ που να σχετίζεται με την πλοκή. Μου άφησε την εντύπωση πως ήθελε απλώς να γεμίσει σελίδες. Και έτσι έκανε μια κοιλιά.
Στα αρνητικά επίσης κάτι που θα αναφέρω συνεχώς όταν το συναντάω. Σταματήστε να το μεταφράζετε “αναπηρικό καροτσάκι�. Οι λέξεις έχουν σημασία. Το καροτσάκι το χειρίζεται κάποιος άλλος όπως σέρνω ένα μωρό ή τα ψώνια της λαϊκής. Το αμαξίδιο το χειρίζεται ο χρήστης του. Ακόμα κι αν το “σέρνει� κάποιος άλλος, το κάνει επειδή ο χρήστης του ορίζει την κατεύθυνση.

In Ghat they believe in vampire watermelons, although folklore is silent about what they believe about vampire watermelons. Possibly they suck back.
A vampire (or is it vampyre?) family comes along with their servant. But make no mistake. These vampires are very modern and resilient. They can eat garlic and walk around during the day � no problem!
Why are vampires always so stupid? As if wearing evening dress all day wasn’t an undead giveaway, why do they choose to live in old castles which offer so much in the way of ways to defeat a vampire, like easily torn curtains and wall decorations that can readily be twisted into a religious symbol?
But they kingdom they chose is the one that our beloved witches live in. This is the 6th and final installment of the witches series. They are all back trying to defeat these night creatures. In their side there is also an Omnian priest (they worship the God Om, but really it could be any god � witches are not that much of believers anyway).

So buckle up for a lot of fun, jokes like only sir Terry Pratchett knows how to deliver and the 3 witches that I always love! I admit that in this book they are not as magnificent as I’ve used them, but it’s still so nice reading how they are thinking. They are all just perfect!

The fury has some similar elements. Meaning it is fast paced, has (more) twists and you want to keep reading it.
This is not a whodunit story. The narrator tells us so in the beginning. This is more of a character study thriller. But there is (at least one) a murder.
6 People want to escape rainy and cloudy London, so about two weeks before Easter, they are going on vacation to a private Greek island named Aura (meaning breeze). Lana Farrar (the owner of the island), her son, her husband, her two best friends (a man and a woman) plus the housekeeper. In the island there is also the Greek guy who’s taking care of it all year round, Nikos.
A gripping story about murder. And love. And betrayal. A simple story to pass the time.
I also enjoyed the audiobook. If you want an easy to read one, I definitely recommend this book . I can see now that the writing of Michaelides, definitely improved over the years and I would gladly read whatever writes next.

The night mark is VERY different. But I did enjoy it a lot.
It takes two things that I like, lighthouses and the consent of time travel, combines them with a bit of romance. A note: although romance is present and vibrant in the majority of the story, I never felt like this is pure romance. It’s a pretty accurate Historical Fiction with mentions of some heavy themes like loss and heartache.
Fay accidentally time travels 94 years back in time and has a logical reaction to it. Like any of us might. I’m telling you, (almost) everything this girl does I might have also. She’s fierce and finally knows what she wants. She divorces her husband that apparently only wants her to have his children and she’s back working doing what she love - photography.
”You can’t live in the past.� “That’s such a condescending, male thing to say. It sounds rational. It sounds like something smart to say, but it’s meaningless. We are all the sum of every single day we’ve lived. We are our pasts. Not only can I live in the past, I did live in the past, and it was the first time I was living in a long time. And if the past wants me to live in it, why shouldn’t I? At least the past and I have met. The future’s a total stranger.�
The writing is very good and easy to read. Please remember that this is not erotica nor a rom-com. There is a HEA though if this is important for you as well.
All in all I’m very glad I decided to read this and will gladly read more of TR’s books....more
Τι όμορφο βιβλίο!! Ξέρετε.. πολλοί λένε πως ένα romance δεν έχει τόσο σπουδαία λογοτεχνική αξία. Αυτό που ξέρω είναι πως κάθε ιστορία μπορεί να μιλήσειΤι όμορφο βιβλίο!! Και τα ρομαντικά μυθιστορήματα είναι εδώ και χρόνια πρώτα σε πωλήσεις οπότε αυτό σίγουρα κάτι λέει.
Το συγκεκριμένο είναι ένα σχετικά ανάλαφρο βιβλίο που σε κάνει να νιώθεις καλά. Και είναι αυτό που συχνά χρειαζόμαστε
Είχε πει ότι (τα ρομαντικά μυθιστορήματα) ήταν μαλακά, ανάλαφρα - ένα ζαχαρωτό. Αλλά ακόμα και τα ζαχαρωτά μπορεί να είναι καλά - γλυκά και με γεμάτη γεύση, ακριβώς ό,τι χρειαζόσουν κι οπότε το χρειαζόσουν.
Η Φλόρενς Ντέι γράφει ρομαντικά μυθιστορήματα ως συγγραφέας - φάντασμα μιας ηλικιωμένης διάσημης συγγραφέως. Όμως η ίδια έπαψε να πιστεύει στην αγάπη από τότε που χώρισε από την τελευταία της σχέση. Δυσκολεύεται να το ξεπεράσει. Και να γράψει.
Όμως έχει ένα συμβόλαιο να τηρήσει που σημαίνει πως οφείλει να παραδώσει το τελευταίο κείμενο.... χθες αν είναι δυνατόν. Το χειρόγραφο που ακόμα δεν είναι έτοιμο καθώς δεν έχει γράψει το τέλος. Και ο νέος (κούκλος) επιμελητής της την πιέζει.
Παρά την ιστορία αγάπης όμως που φυσικά ξέρεις πως θα διαβάσεις, το βιβλίο επικεντρώνεται αλλού. Στα μυστικά που κρατάμε μέσα μας, στον θάνατο, στα τραύματα, στις οικογενειακές σχέσεις που συχνά είναι τεταμένες. Και το κάνει με όμορφο τρόπο. Με χιούμορ αλλά και κατανόηση.
Μια συναισθηματική ιστορία - όχι από αυτές που σε κάνουν να κλάψεις, αλλά από εκείνες που σε κάνουν να πιστέψεις σε κάτι όμορφο.
Η αγάπη δεν ήταν ένας ψίθυρος στην ήσυχη νύχτα. Ήταν μια κραυγή στο κενό, ουρλιάζοντας ότι ήσουν εδώ.
Φυσικά και διαφωνώ με το ότι τα ρομαντικά μυθιστορήματα δεν έχουν τόση λογοτεχνική αξία. Αυτό εδώ ας πούμε μας χάρισε όμορφα μηνύματα, χαμόγελα, μας έκανε να σκεφτούμε και γενικά 3-4 μέρες που ανυπομονούσαμε να συνεχίσουμε, με την αγαπημένη Αθηνά, να διαβάζουμε....more

Famous author Jack Masterson have written a book series about the Clock Island. A place straight out from children’s dreams. And he actually lives in the house at Clock Island, so the place must be real - right? When Lucy was young, these books really helped her deal with life. Now, 13 years later, she’s a woman with different kind of problems. She still loves the books though, this is why she reads them to Christopher, the little orphan boy she really wants to foster and adopt.

I have to confess that I usually stay away from books that are nominated for best fiction because they tend to be sad and emotional and I prefer reading happier things. But this one? I’m glad I read this! It was a feel good story. About how sometimes, your wishes just may come true.
Fast paced and enchanting, I really liked it! I particularly enjoyed the riddles and all the places in Clock Island.

Ω, πόσο εύκολο είναι να δώσεις χαρά και να αντλήσεις κι ο ίδιος χαρά απ' τη χαρά: αρκεί να ξεκλειδώσεις τον εαυτό σου, κι αμέσως αρχίζει να χύνεται από άνθρωπο σε άνθρωπο αυτό το ζωντανό ρεύμα, να ορμάει βουερό από τα ύψη στα βάθη, να εκτινάσσεται και πάλι αφρισμένο προς το άπειρο.

What I didn’t like is that you can tell that every single one of them is the creation of a single person. They all express in exactly the same way. Yes, I suppose they do.
The story tried and failed to be funny in some parts. It could be funny if this was a movie. But not in a book so much.

The more you know about the past, the easier is to divine the future
And it sets to be an epic one. Having all sorts of mythical creatures, alliances, and twists. Having read the other series the author has published, I was thrilled to learn the origin stories of many people that the future people will swear upon or even refer to us gods.
We were foolish to think the Frey were gods, but it was insanity for the Frey to believe it, too. I'd rather be foolish than insane.
Outstanding set of characters, I mean, the variety, the truth in them, even the originality! I was rooting for them, even from the first pages. I also love the writing and as always, the narrator, Tim Gerard Reynolds, I believe he is one of the reasons that Ι wanted to read (listen) to the series.
Remember, it's easier to believe outlandish lie confirming what you suspect than the most obvious truth that denies it.
Ok. To be completely honest, hand to the heart, I missed some characters from his other series, but since Age of Myth is set 3000 years in the past, I guess Royce and Hadrian haven't been born yet. Ok. I'm ok. I'll get over it....more

This is a whodunnit mystery involving artists, alcoholics and the people living in Three Pines (as always). It’s the 7th in the Chief Inspector Armand Gamache series and it becomes clear that the chief inspector is actually somewhat patronizing. I don’t quite like him to be honest.
Armand Gamache knew no good ever came from putting up walls. What people mistook for safety was in fact captivity. And few things thrived in captivity.
Ok, the above quote might sounds like a nice opinion, but he’s not always like that. There are also other things that I didn’t enjoy in the one. ❎Like the fact that all the characters have huge insecurities (that is always the case in this series, but it now bothered me even more). ❎Also it is tiredsome that nothing huge really happens until the last 5% of the book. ❎It's also weird that the detectives are more concern about what they are going to eat or drink, than sharing the news about the case.
And what I did like: ☑The writing is captivating as always. I mean, these books are truly art. ☑And the author, Louise Penny, has done her homework. ☑Also, I just love the personal relationships between the characters that I came to care about after all those books. It’s really something.
