After a former student hires Kimball to follow her cheating husband and his supposed mistress, they end up dead. But could these be linked to a school shooting in Kimball's past?    My biggest issue with this book is that none of the main characters/ POV characters are likable. The story I found was more interesting and twisty.    The narrator was pretty good, but not the best with voices. Overall a solid 4-star book. ...more

While this is a twisty mystery thriller with multiple POVs, none of the main characters are particularly likable. And the men are quite misogynistic and obsessed with women and sex, it was like half the men's POVs were describing the woman's bodies sexually especially the breasts and how clothes fit them. I hope all men aren’t like these men on the inside! Even the women whose POVs you got weren't likable. Basically, all the MCs were trash human beings.
I only gave a high-ish rating because the overall plot was good even if the characters while detailed and complex, were unlikable, and the book had an overall misogyny to it. ...more

There were some issues with the audiobook I got from the library it skipped a few times I couldn't get the little 5 sec parts to play in two spots so hopefully I didn't miss anything essential. It did keep me guessing throughout the book! Which always makes a good thriller. I liked the diversity, and most of the MCs were likable, just one wasn't. Overall it was a pretty good book, but the ending was frustrating because I don't know what the secret was! I have a few guesses though. The narrators did an amazing job and made it easier to get into a book with so many POVs. ...more
