In The Wandering Season, Veronica attempts to find herself by traveling to Europe to visit the places listed on her DNA ancestral report.
This was kind of an Eat, Pray, and Love story but especially the Eat portion as Veronica is involved in the food business. I’m not any kind of a foodie, but I’m telling you My stomach would start rumbling after reading descriptions of the amazing food in this book. So. Much. Food!
Mixed in with the traveled places and food were visions of the past so you get a true feel of the history of each place Veronica visits. The locales were fascinating and now I want to do a trip recreating each of the places she travels to.
I truly loved each character in this story; Vero, her sister and best friend, her parents, the people she meets on her travels, but especially Niall. I was so very satisfied with the ending.
I can’t wait to see what Aimie writes next!

The snarky Ada and straight laced Rian once again provide another book filled with unexpected twists and likable characters. Even though Ada is shady as heck, you can’t help rooting for her. Beth Revis describes this series as a spacemance and I love it.
I read this novella in one sitting because there was no way I was able to put it down with everything going on. Those incredible twists, the banter, the characters, the future tech, the flirting, the romance This novella had it all.
In Last Chance to Save the World, Ada and Rian are now on Earth to stop nanobots from destroying the world. Do they succeed? No spoilers!
I’m sad to leave this series and these characters behind. I would love to see future sequels, (hint, hint!) with Ada and Rian!

In The Third Rule of Time Travel, Beth has invented time travel. Well, sort of. The traveler can only send their conscienceness back to their own timelines and revisit 90 seconds of their past through their own eyes.
Yes, there was science. And yes, I didn’t understand most of it. It didn’t matter though as there was more than enough story to keep me invested. I mean it’s time travel. Who can understand ANY of that science?
This definitely felt a bit like a Michael Crichton or a Blake Crouch story and I love both of those authors so I definitely recommend this book if you like that type of sci-fi.

When I found out she was writing a book about Roswell and the mysterious unidentified craft that crashed in 1947 and immediately whisked away by the military, I knew I had to read this one! I’ve always had a fascination with Roswell and UFO’s.
What I didn’t realize, but should have known, is that The Stars and Their Light was so much more. It’s a historical novel that takes place in Roswell, but is really about a high school teen who develops stigmata from touching a piece of the craft, and the nun who befriends her.
The story delves deep into the spiritual as a group of nuns arrive shortly after the crash to establish a monastery in Roswell.
I found the historical aspect of life in 1947 to be completely fascinating. The storyline of the mysterious UFO was there but was not really the main plot of the book.
I adored the characters of Betty the teen, and Sister Mary Agnes and was very satisfied by the ending.
But the part that was the most intriguing to me was the author’s notes explaining the reason why she wrote this book along with the real facts about this event.
I’m eagerly awaiting whatever Olivia Hawker comes up with next.

Cruel & Bitter Things starts off with a bang as Gwynn discovers a date-rapist she knew from her college days is also at an event she’s attending. She gets him off by himself, drugs him, and kills him.
As you get further into this twisty thriller, we discover it’s not the first time Gwynn has ended lives. Sweet, kind Gwynn. Mother to a precious 5 year old. Director of a home for neglected and abused children.
Enter the Police Detective Peters investigating the disappearance of the date-rapist. Gwynn has to get very creative trying to throw Peters off her scent.
I actually enjoyed anti-hero Gwynn and look forward to the sequel which I believe is going to be released this coming fall 2025.
This is my second book from this author and I look forward to reading the sequel of this one!

Having read the Hunger Games books many many times, I devoured Sunrise. I listened to the audiobook and Jefferson White was amazing as narrator!
Was this book heartbreaking? Yes! We all knew how it would end, but the details I usually don’t cry with books, but even I got teary eyed on this one.
The Easter eggs, the lore, how it intertwined with the original books Just brilliant.
I immediately reread the first books. And now I want to reread this one again. ...more

Maggie Bird, a retired spy, and her other ex-CIA friends, aka the cocktail sipping Martini Club, can’t help themselves and are determined to help the local sheriff when a summer visiting teen disappears in their small town in Maine.
This thriller has everything; sharp banter, a beautiful setting, mystery, and even a little bit of romance. I loved it and need more Martini Club!

Lila and Kurt are the Hollywood it couple, with Lila as an America’s Sweetheart superstar and Kurt as a major director.
Sweet Fury begins with the filming of a feminist retelling of Fitzgerald’s Tender is the Night.
To be honest, I’m probably not the target audience as I’ve not read anything else but Gatsby by Fitzgerald and I’m not a literary reader. I also like my thrillers to be “thrillers.
I wasn’t really enamored with any of the characters and the ending left much to be desired. The reveals were good though when they finally came and kept me turning the pages to see what would happen.
