Instead of growing their connection they felt insta-love without any foundation or really knowing each other for more than two weeks (or insta lust that was sold as love). The sex scenes started to get tiresome and I felt myself wanting more actual connection. The plot also felt weak in the last 20%. Too much happens and most of it is told not shown. It is devoid of tension or anticipation with every little thing answered instead of leaving room for next book/things to grow. The villains and side characters grew dull and one dimensional. The one side character that livened up the book was Carrion, I really enjoyed reading scenes when he was in them.
Overall disappointing read for me but I'm clearly in the very small minority here (and the start of the book was super interesting and fun so...)....more

It was way too sweet, way too long, and lacked any sort of central plot. After the first few chapters which were interesting the book was just them being cheesy with each other/doing every day things like buying a house, talking about her job (this was probably the part I least enjoyed. Maybe I’m just a horrible person but I hate when characters come off as too flawless/perfect jobs just magically appear in books), and other day to day stuff. Really it just felt unnecessary. The story basically finished a couple chapters in, so end it there. This could have been a novella or bonus scene. But a book on its own? It just took away from the first book for me which I enjoyed way more.
Also this is just nit picking but I missed some of the other football players from the first book. They are never mentioned again and I thought this was a loss to the story.
What I did like? Tessa/Nixon (They are ultimate best friends). Also the parents. Loved them in both books (and wish they were used even more).
I liked the characters and the first book was fun but this book was just not for me. That said if you like sweet give it a try, you may really enjoy it.

I lived for all the friendships and seeing the other characters from the other books come together in a big way. You could tell Sophia Lark really put a lot of thought into this one and I loved all the Easter eggs from the other stories. Gonna miss this series!...more

Meandering plot that was unrealistic and uninteresting. Too many side characters and no personality to them. The hero who was so mysterious and complex in book one dropped his own ambition and goals to follow and protect the heroine (the first 30% was good between them and then it was just boring). And the heroine really had that main character syndrome going on (not in a good way). This book had potential but didn't reach it. It could have used a good developmental edit.
I considered dnf at 80% through but stuck it out. Wish I had just dnf. Sad since I really enjoyed book one. Would not recommend....more
