The reason I decided to start reading this book is that this author is releasing a book next month, A Deadly Education, which I am very excited about; I wanted to get acquainted with this author's writing before reading A Deadly Education.
The truth is... this book bored me. It started out really good, I was into it but now I am halfway through the book and I can’t even tell you what it is about because I wasn’t paying attention to it and all I kept thinking about was what I was going to read once I had finished this book.
I didn’t care about the plot nor the characters. I wanted to force myself to finish the book but I decided not to do that to myself. I’m still going to read A Deadly Education and I hope I can at least finish that one.

I saw some booktubers saying "this is one of the best series they've ever read" and when I checked the reviews they were mostly 4-5 stars so I wanted to see what this was all about. Unfortunately this book was not for me. The plot of this book is very slow and most of it was "description" without romance. I'm the type of person who needs romance or at least a hint that there will be some romance between the characters, anything to keep me motivated, but so far I haven't seen that..
I was forcing myself to finish the book, but there's no point doing it when I know I'm going to give it a bad rating because I'm not enjoying it. As you read before, I decided to dnf this book at 49% and if you ask me what this book is about, I couldn't tell you because I wasn't even paying attention to what I was reading.
I'll try to give the book another try someday, but right now I can't keep forcing myself to finish it....more

I’m the kind of person who doesn’t like to dnf books but I can’t keep reading this book. I kept reading this book waiting for something exciting to happen, something that would make the book interesting but it never happened.
It makes me sad to dnf this book because a lot of my friends liked it and they were the reason why I started reading this book, but it was just boring and I couldn’t keep going.
Someone told me that book 2 and 3 are better than book 1 but If they are as boring as this one I won’t reading it ...more
