Highly, highly recommended for domestic discipline -on the rough side- readers, this takes you for a ride to the deepest parts of your most twisted fantasies. The MCs are perfect, Troy and Hunter are both forces of nature, together they're alpha gods to be worshipped and Lacey does the worshipping wholeheartedly. Their scenes together (after a long foreplay full of tension) are insanely erotic.
It's better if you read first Maintenance Night and Maintenance Week so you know where the characters come from.

This is my first book by this author and I sure am glad that I finally got the pleasure. The writing was refreshingly smooth, straight to the point, and there's a well-balanced feel to it: the male characters are distinctly different from each other (pretty important in RH, where they sometimes all look the same), there's action, a little bit of background, there's smut (seriously hot smutt), and it's also kind of a primitive road trip.
The omega, Belle, is offly sassy, enough to keep the alphas busy, and the alphas are epic: dominant, forceful, animalistic...so delicious!!! I loved them all, my favorite was the most brutish of them all, Dax, and I felt like perhaps he didn't get so much attention as the others did, specially Nat (the younger, naughtier one), who was terribly wicked and fun but I have a weak spot for burly behemoths *grin*.
There's a lot of smex, so be prepared for a lot of body fluids, the scenes are wildly erotic (which is not always the case in erotic romance) with that edge of animalistic sensuality so belonging to this genre.
The only thing I disliked was that the heroine is described as "skin and bones", so it made me feel a little bit off with regards to her being a figure representing fertility and sensuality; sorry but I can't visualize it, I keep feeling like she's going to faint at any given time due to fluid loss or too much rough, vigorous sex with more than one huge alpha...I also keep imagining myself feeding her a sandwich or a stew to make her stronger. Such fragility in my mind clashes with the idea I have of what an omega should be like, but that is my personal pet peeve.
I would highly recommend this author to those readers who love the omegaverse, I will be looking forward to reading more of her work.

First of all, this is not one of those saccharine sweet age play books, all cuddles and giggles; it's also not totally about corporal punishment but more something leaning toward domestic discipline (male dominant/female submissive) and power exchange in a couple of age players.
I loved that the MCs are a mature couple in their 40s - thank you, Markie Morelli -, they've been in an unhappy relationship for over 20 years and they embrace age play and power exchange as the last resort to save their marriage.
Giving no more details (read the book), there are plenty of kinky scenes, ridiculously hot (fanning myself, cold shower, ice cubes kind of hot), but also it's a wonderful exploration of the feelings of the main characters before and during their play and their dynamic. It's like a detailed explanation of how age play and power exchange work psychologically for those involved; since I enjoy much more DD and sweet romances are not so my thing, this age play book was perfect in terms of heat but also regarding character development. It was powerful to see how two people who had been deeply unhappy for so long were capable of changing their ways and overcome the bitterness of the past, letting go...Cheri and Michael are pretty brave imo, it's not easy to change a lifetime of habits even if they make you unhappy.
Their going deeper into the AP and DD lifestyle was engrossing, the writing of their process is fluid and engrossing, every page counted. It's also one of the hottest, kinkiest books I've read (ok, not the kinkiest but it felt like it), so I'll be following this author closely.
This book is highly recommended for readers who enjoy kinky reads with lots of discipline and those who're not offended (and don't get high blood pressure) for a power exchange relationship where the man is in charge of the household and does an excellent job of keeping her wife on her toes (and on his knees)....more

This is the story of a growing relationship between two very complicated souls with different needs, those including extreme discipline and pain. This is one of the few books where sadism and masochism are perfectly integrated in the story, the scenes are there to explain how this type of people feel about their needs and it doesn't feel like gratuitous violence/torture IMO. I loved both MCs, they were so strong in their own way; the author takes you through all the stages in their relationship, and it's a slow burn, you don't get insta-anything.
If you can take rough sex, a really strict dominant disciplining a willing masochist submissive, this is for you...avoid it if you're easily offended and/or affected.

I love his ultra-dominant male characters and his brand of domination/submission, although it's not agreeable to current politically correct standards. At his Will is a clear example: Alyson embezzles money from her boss, Will, and he decides to take it back from her in flesh. He's the quintessential dominant, remorselessly macho, sadistic and cruel and he gets off of humiliating Alyson, who discovers a side of herself she never knew existed. There is a build-up of sexual tension between them, that will explode in a crescendo of shameless smut that may appeal to lovers of erotica.
I found fascinating how Trent explores how some women may find forceful domination and humiliation a turn-on; society says it's degrading and against women's rights...It's actually true, but what about fantasies, and sexual predilections? It may be the way we're wired, so it's not a choice, and even when logic dictates one thing, emotions and feelings sometimes go in a different direction. So, the FMC in this book, although being constantly embarrassed and debased, gets addicted to this treatment because of how it makes her feel. Will is a sadistic bastard (although he never truly harms Alyson) and that's precisely what I loved about him, the man is sex personified.
This book is total smut, incredibly, scorchingly erotic smut; Trent Evans writes the hottest books I've read, and I think it's very daring of him to go against social conventions, but I also appreciate it because fantasy should be free of judgement.
That's why the roughness of the scenes described may be too much for some readers, and others (like myself) will LOVE it. You either feel it or you don't....more
