Well it is clearly a niche book and probably more like reading (or in my case listening) to the bonus tracks at the end of a DVD. As usual he draws out the small characters and gives everyone depth. No one is simple and straightforward. Each character is complex and unpredictable - just like life. It raises questions about what is a community and it’s values. It also raises questions of what we allow in a sports team because we exalt winning, what we allow when we let “bots be boys� as part of a team, and how we can all come unglued. To quote the best lines from this book would involve restyling the entire thing as it is filled with thought provoking wisdom throughout. Another brilliant work....more
