But along the way she gets detoured; by lust, by obsession, by midlife crisis, and makes (Judgement alert!) one crazy decision after another.
This book is batshit crazy in the most wonderful way. Completely unpredictable every step, every page. This character's choices and her trajectory were beyond anything I would have imagined.
Buckle up and enjoy. Truly a thrill ride of a book....more

Gross and violent images (especially SPOILER ALERT those involving animals) are gratuitous and cheapen the reading experience for me.

Griffin (son of Dominick, brother of Dominique, nephew of John and Joan Didion) is a very good writer and storyteller. Along with fame and wealth, there was so much pain; addiction, illness, murder.
When I was in high school, we went to see "Poltergeist" on Halloween. I remember getting home from the movies and seeing on the news that the star, Dominique Dunne, was in a coma after having been attacked by her boyfriend hours earlier. ...more
