Just like the amazing adaptation, it felt like the warmest and softest heartbreak that leaves you numb, thinking about the “stuff that really matters.
I always find myself fascinated when i can feel the vast knowledge of human condition that the author has in the way he writes his/her book and expresses through the protagonist's thoughts. This man knows, deeply, what people think about others, themselves and life as a whole but never say out loud because we are filled with fear, insecurities and doubts. So grateful when a person with this immense awareness of their emotional intelligent chooses to be an author and show us all through their art!...more

I LOOOOOOVE when the killer is the most obvious suspect. It's the Billy Loomis effect that I have loved since I was a kid and Agatha Christie obviously invented it, cuz if someone is being pointed as the obvious killer, you stop suspecting them, and then when they actually are you end up shocked!
This time wasn't entirely like that tho, I could read that that person was the killer but I still adored how everything played out. I was completely fine with the idea of that person being the killer and even mad when, sometimes, Agatha made me believe that person actually wasn't, so yeah, she still played with me anyway....more

It was the hardest one but also the most emotional and rewarding. “My story is not like a movie, I’ll say. It’s not heart-stopping or intense or bloodcurdling or graphic or violent. No jump scares. To me, these qualities aren’t usually scary. Something that disorients, that unsettles what’s taken for granted, something that disturbs and disrupts reality, that’s scary.
This little thought that can fade away easily in the wilderness of everything that happens actually resumes the whole story for me. I was disturbed by the ending. There were parts when I expected it, not because it was obvious, but because the book had me guessing endings since page one, so of course one of the thousands f*cked-up endings I thought was real. What I love most about a great book is it's capacity to get me hooked up on a ride and don't let me go even after the ending. I couldn't even make a review about it. I tried watching tv shows and movies after reading it, but I couldn't. It let me numb. The way it was written was also exceptional and I will read more about this author. Every thought was a scary, cut-trough, realistic view that stayed under your skin, and that will always be more frightening than a jump scare....more

The best feeling in the world for a reader is to start a book just for pure entertainment, not expecting a lot from it, and ending up loving every page of it!
I thought the writing was really good and immersive, the slasher elements that I'm a huge fan of (and know damn well how they should be used and how they shouldn't) were perfectly executed and the characters felt human and real. I loved Quinn, Janet and Rust, especially. Quinn's dad and Cole were cool too. The identity/identities (don't want to specify if it's one or more and namedrop because of spoilers, obviously) behind the clown mask felt right, both complex and scary!
AND THAT GAY TWIST IN THE END!? I GASPED! WHAT A TWIST ON CLICHES!
