4¥/5¥ She truly is everything to me. The calm to my chaos. The light to my darkness. The love of my life.
To start with this great review I have to say 4¥/5¥ She truly is everything to me. The calm to my chaos. The light to my darkness. The love of my life.
To start with this great review I have to say that I liked The Temporary Wife more than The Wrong Bride, I simply connected more with Valentina and Luca and their story was more entertaining for me, and those plot twists in the book left me crazy. Something that stands out is that I highlighted 439 phrases, paragraphs, or moments from the book, and that is a lot.
We have as protagonists Luca Windsor and Valentina Diaz, Luca is in charge of handling everything that has to do with finances in the Windsor family, Valentina is his secretary who was assigned to that position by Luca's grandmother (a.k.a. the matriarch of the family). They hated each other from the beginning, Luca tried to do everything possible to make her resign (he couldn't fire her because she had his grandmother's support) and he gave Val difficult tests but in the end, she always surpassed each one of the trials because she needed that position to support her family, and despite everything they've been working together for 8 years in which Val became his right hand.
When did she go from being the woman I hated more than anything to becoming the one I trust above everyone else?
Val reaches a moment of realization in which she realizes that in the 8 years she has worked for Luca she has sacrificed many things such as a social life and she realizes that even she knows her two closest friends because of him, as if she comes to the conclusion that in those 8 years she has only lived for her work and she only deals with that.
Added to all this is that Luca is then informed who he is going to marry (remember that the Windsors have this tradition of having arranged/convenient marriages and that all of them must accept it or lose their inheritance. and they practically lose everything) and Luca doesn't react very well to this and if that's not enough Val decides that she is going to resign after 8 years because she needed a new start and she no longer felt comfortable with Luca because of something that happened between them in his brother's wedding and she was also taking into consideration the fact that she has no social life and that she has exploited herself all those years working for him.
Luca does not react very well to the news and does everything to avoid it, because he does not want to lose her, and he proposes a deal and that is that they get married so he does not have to marry the woman his grandmother chose and she gets excellent quality care. for his grandmother, who has Alzheimer's.
Luca, at the beginning of the book with his questionable attitude, I thought I was going to hate him, but I honestly couldn't.
I loved the book and its characters and how they try to overcome their fears, especially Val, and how they do it by being together and supporting each other, and how Luca did not demand more than what she could give.
"...Nothing you do or say will change my mind, Luca. I¨m done being your pawn. ̄ I walk to the door and hold it open for him. He sighs and follows me reluctantly. I didn¨t think he¨d have anything left to say, but he leans against the doorway and looks into my eyes, his gaze unfocused. ^You were never a pawn, ̄ he says, his voice soft. ^You were always my queen. Everyone knew it but you. ̄...more

This book is the best, I really loved it and I really loved seeing how the characters grow overcoming their fears.
To some things here I felt related too and I think that's why I liked it more.
^Let me tell you from experience, family members like that´ They can poison things between you so easily if you¨re not on the same page. Time. That¨s the only cure and even then, sometimes the ache is still there, but you did the right thing. Sometimes you have to think about yourself and put yourself first. I learned that lesson the hard way. You can¨t be everything to everyone all the time and give and give until there¨s nothing left of you. You can show people all you want, but that doesn¨t mean you can make them see. But just because someone¨s your family, that doesn¨t mean you can keep hurting them over and over again and get away with it."...more

From the moment he¨d met her, he thought of her like the sun. Bright and vibrant, untouchable. But he was wrong. She wasn¨t light; she was color. Every single one, dancing otherworldly and bright over his unworthy eyes. She was the explosion of the vivid gleams and glows of the world around him, like a constant rainbow, shining not after the rain but during. She was everything he never deserved but longed for anyway.
This book was so good, and I enjoyed it. I remember when the author started the series of videos of the "Assistant to the villain" on TikTok, they were so good and entertaining. This book was so good, it had me highlighting so many things and I really love the narrative, but I feel the end rushed, the entire book thing took their time to happened but the end was pretty fast and I was left wishing a longer end and one seeing more of the characters happy, specifically Zafira and Nasir....more

We have Freya Lal, the girl is 3.8¥/5¥ "There is no greater magic in all the universe combined than someone who builds a home for you in their heart."
We have Freya Lal, the girl is a writer in a very hard process of writing her second book, but she hides a secret, she is the spitting image of actress Mandi Roy. Our protagonist is desperate to get rid of the writing block she has and she does it by using the resemblance she has with the actress and gets some benefits for being mistaken for the actress.
We also have Taft Bamber, who is an incredibly beautiful and talented actor, and is also known as Mandi's boyfriend, but what no one knows is that this relationship is pure acting in order to better sell the movie that is about to be released in which they are both involved.
When Freya is discovered for pretending to be Mandi and this goes viral creating a scandal, she is forced to pay Mandi back in the best way possible, being Mandi Roy for 4 weeks, fulfilling her commitments which include pretending to be completely in love with Taft. But Freya and Taft's game of pretending is becoming more and more real and harder to ignore.
My opinion To start I jump in this book because of the fake dating trope and I have not regrets, this one is kind of a strangers to friends to lovers but oh god, it had all the potential to also be an enemies to lovers.
The romance is fast, it's not something that I hate but also don't like it that much when it happens that way but this don't take away the fact that I fell for Freya, Taft and Mandi.
Freya is this girl that feel like a failure and lost when don't find inspiration to write her second book after her big debut, it was amazing to see that in this character and also see how authors/writers struggle a lot to express themselves in words and also let the world see a piece of their heart. "...every time you send part of your heart out into the world, it just means dozens of more chances to be rejected, a no waiting to happen."
Taft is such a soft boy, like a golden retriever, he is always there supporting his friends even though sometimes he doesn't get the same treatment. He is fake dating Mandi but between them there is nothing more than a beautiful reciprocated friendship and I think this is something a really like about this book it's the author not putting Mandi as the villain of the story, she just want to have some time to be herself without having all that pressure in her.
The only thing I didn't like was how I find the ending so bland, don't misunderstand me, it's a happy ending but for me its not that memorable or remarkable.
