It was comical in some parts but just a so so book. I like the Stephany plum books better. But it was an ok light read. Not sure if I鈥檓 gonna read the rest. ...more

At first it feels very typical teenager book and predictable. But damn! So not! It was so fun to know all the places mentioned in the book. My daughter attends the same high school. We live in the same area. I am so impressed! I highly recommend this book to my local book friends! Very well done. You have to commit to reading it all the way through. Once u get to a certain point u won鈥檛 want to put it down. But until then promise to read it all the way through. I don鈥檛 think you will regret it! What a crazy ride! ...more

A bit hard for my kiddo to read as she likes happy stories. I did feel it was a bit of an agenda in the curriculum with so much happening with immigration right now however I had it in my tbr pile before my daughters teacher picked it. So I read it along with my daughter as a way to know what was happening in class. In another time or day I would just see it as a good book. Worth the read. ...more

It resembles my child and things were making sense. But it was also depressing because her child still wound up on the streets. Sometimes o felt like there were too many stories of other families. I wanted to hear more about her family. Some of the stories I really appreciated, there are some good information in here but I discovered that my state of Nevada does not have adequate therapy specialist here. There were a few suggestion that I really wanted to try but my therapist said we don't have anything like that here. I kept wanting a happy ending but I didn't get it. I wonder how they are doing today...more

Things that happenenjoyed the premise of this book but towards the end when the storyline should be picking up and be the most exciting it fell flat. Things that happen on their adventure could be explained away because they were outside. As a mater of fact i felt it was not even close to feeling like it was a spirit. But for kids maybe it would. And then ends leaving you feel like nothing was resolved. Very unsatisfying ending. Like the author just got tired of writing the story so she just ended it quick. ...more

Keeps you interested, and makes you shake your head and ask," what in the world??" As a mom of a child with Severe ADHD I'm thankful to have stumbled upon this book. I always look at my son and shake my head and wonder what in world are you thinking?? What is going through your head? He is too young to put it all into words. Actually he is getting old enough but I still forget he has an issue with self control and impulsivity. As well as low self esteem.
The hyper part is so much easier to deal with compared to the impulsivity. Then there's the hyper focus! Say what? Focus? Yes a hyper focus on one thing. I think it's why they give him a diagnosis of OCD as well.
What this book did for me is give me a look into my son's head. The energy and strength it takes to stop and don't do. Most powerful for me was the pebbles and just wanting to see them fly. Over and over again not learning the consequences of the pebbles flying.
I actually wouldn't suggest this book for anyone not suffering from ADHD or does not have a loved one or friend with ADHD. You won't get it. It looks like they are just being punks making poor choices on purpose. If you don't live it or live near it, you see something else. I don't wish autism on anyone, but if you say your child is autistic people understand it's a real disorder. If you say your child is ADHD or severe ADHD they just kind of roll their eyes or just kind of nod in fake understanding. So frustrating
But if you have ADHD as a kids or adult it's great! It gives you hope and proof you can succeed and get organized. there are teachers and professors that understand and help you succeed while still making you responsible. It's a short book so not overwhelming to read. My 11 year old is reading it next...more
