it was amazing
bookshelves: feminist, canonical-should-reads

Oh Virginia Woolf, you wonderful gal, you! This book was great! I felt compelled beyond the moments of perhaps boring chatter by some force unknown, and just couldn't stop reading. Judging by my tiny dogears at the bottoms of the pages (which indicate that I have underlined something, liked something, etc. etc.), I really got into it at Chapter 4, and was Whoa blown away by Chapter 6. I'm actually a bit saddened that I never had this book assigned to me in high school or college lit. classes so that I could hear an instructor's break-down of the book or write a long analytical essay about it. Basically, I miss that I don't have a 'learned' vehicle in which to sit and contemplate this book with more depth.

I can't really begin to note the parts that found most interesting, only because I'm still digesting, and trying to figure out what it all meant to me. Perhaps I'll come back and fill this review with my thoughts -- or perhaps I'll leave them to roll about in my mind.
