Robopocalypse (Robopocalypse, #1)

The author uses the same technique as World War Z of telling his story through a series of "eye witness" reports throughout the uprising. However unlike WWZ, here they concentrate on a handful of characters who keep re-appearing throughout the conflict and having "profound" effects on events and the future of mankind.
Not all the episodes are poor, but overall there is little sense of the horror of the situation and little tension as at the end of each chapter we are cheerfully told how whatever had happened/ been learnt shortened the war etc.
Shame because there are some good ideas here and not badly written, but could be so much better
