A 'treasure' is what this should be called... Not a book, but a treasure of the truth, horrors, pain, fear, anxiety and depression of the 2nd World War caused by Nazi Germany. This writing is just a reminder and a realization of the HORRENDOUS thing that has happened to innocent human beings and that should NEVER be forgotten- No matter how many years, decades, centuries, millenniums pass by! Reading this diary (a diary of someone's DEEPEST, PERSONAL feelings and thoughts!), I constantly had to make myself feel that I was in that house living in secret, in fear, in worry, anxiety, in depression, oppression, in hunger, starvation and loneliness. And even then, I will NEVER be able to fully understand or know what it must have been like to live in that house.. And even so, they were the "lucky" ones. Living in such conditions, they were the lucky oppressed ones, because unthinkably worse were the ones who were doomed in camps. NO one will ever be able to understand the depth and horrific situation that these 8 people experienced/ were in besides these 8 and those who were in hiding and camps... It is HORRIFYING to realize that SO many millions of INNOCENT people (FOR NO REASON!) had to endure and live, actually I should not say live because this was no life.... But had to suffer and be CURSED to such fate. This piece of writing is a testimony of the truth that has happened and a realization that ANYTHING HORRIBLE can happen to ANY of us should the masses be against us. It's a saddening realization that this happened RIGHT here where I live, just a few years back (and that one can NEVER be sure that it might not happen again and any of us could be the next victim of such atrocities.) This masterpiece deserves the right to not be able to be scored, because it is not what Anne wrote that was important, but the occasion in which it was written. Truly magnificent piece of writing, true story! This is a MUST read for EVERY human being. I found this to be profoundly heartbreaking.
